How fast a week goes by 😥
This time a week ago we were prepping for my debut race. The nerves were kicking in, and the fear had set in for what I was about to do. But, once I was in the car and out on the track, I really felt at home.
What an epic experience ❤️

I was wondering why I felt like pizza after finishing every race or maybe it’s just because I love pizza 🤣🍕

The moment Shaun was wishing pit lane was a swimming pool lane, after sitting in the car at max temps, waiting for the track to be cleared🥵

Well what an absolute privilege it was to race on my home track at the Newcastle 500!
Especially amongst only 4 other Novocastrians, Cody McKay Motorsports, Michael Sherwell Racing, Charlotte Poynting Racing and Ryan Gilroy Racing.
It’s been a dream of mine to race the track that I built for the simulator, and to actually get to do it in front of 160,000 people was beyond anything I could ever imagine.

The weekend didn’t quite start the way we would have liked with dramas in the first practice session. By the end of race 4 on Sunday though I really felt like I had gained a huge amount of confidence in myself to throw the car around this intimidating street circuit.

I don’t know how, but I managed to stay out of all the carnage that happened over the weekend and bring the car back in once piece!

I want to say a huge thanks to all of my sponsors that came on board with me for this incredible event I couldn’t have done it without you 🙏
Especially Mitch from AVE Technologies, who was really the driving force from the start.

Thanks to my beautiful wife Kiraley, for coming on this ride with me. I hope you enjoyed this weekend as much as I did! You did an awesome job taking photos and videos to capture the entire weekend!

And finally Cody McKay Motorsports.
Cody and his team, Mick and Ian, did an awesome job of supplying me with the car for the weekend.
Having only done one test day in the car 2 weeks ago, Cody trusted me with his “first born” racecar, on probably one of the hardest street circuits on the Supercars calendar.
I know it would have been stressful for him to let me drive the car, and I’m so proud that I was able to bring the car back after 4 action packed races without a scratch on it!

Cody you’re a bloody legend for making this happen, it’s a weekend that I’ll never forget and I am so incredibly grateful 🙏

Hopefully this is only the start, and there are plenty more Aussie Racing Cars events to come 👍

Practice 1 done and dusted. Unfortunately we had a mechanical issue and we weren’t able to get a proper lap in. Looking forward to Qualifying at 2.45pm today!

This was our last chance to get our head around this tight circuit before practice 1 tomorrow.

There are so many camber and elevation changes in the road that you don’t realise by just driving around.

It’s going to make it super challenging but super rewarding if I can get it right🤞
