TIL that Spotify paid US$250 million to renew Joe Rogan‘s contract for his podcast. Meanwhile they pay the lowest of any streaming service to the musicians. I believe Apple Music pays around five times more per string Just as an example of the closest competitor! The irony is that Spotify’s CEO constantly complains about profits. Unbelievably hypocritical
This is really encouraging to see! Goes to show we don’t have to condense everything we do into a bite-size chunk of disposable tiktok content. There’s definitely room for both.

Fav album of the week here in the studio is Wasia Project's 'how can I pretend'. This EP is a stunning array of breathy vocals and beautifully produced alt-pop/jazz fusion tracks. The simplicity of "ur so pretty" really allows lead vocalist Olivia Hardy to capture the lyrics in the clearest of lights. Really loving the sound. Give it a listen!
Super stoked to make this post! new release today - Songs For Everyone. So proud of this project and team and truly grateful to be the yellow (and golden - yes Indy you’re included) Quokka. Please give this album a spin, even if you don’t have kids because as the title says, there’s songs for everyone.

This weeks fav album in the studio is ‘Homework’. The album that rocked my nine year old world! I remember stumbling upon it and being utterly blown away by the crazy mix of sounds. It was like a musical rollercoaster I never wanted to get off. I even tried my hand at remixing some beats, but let’s just say my attempts were hilariously awful. Despite my failed remixing career, that album opened my ears to a whole universe of music I’d never imagined. Cheers to Daft Punk for turning my childhood into a funky, beat-filled adventure! 🎶😄
Saturday Sounds.
Abbi Yeo Music challenged me to make a loop in 10 minutes that sounded like an “aquarium” (what even is that). Here’s the 3 minutes of chaos that followed.
Comment below a sound for the next one or send in some sounds for us to use! And enjoy this track we like to call… ‘Sheepwhale’
Music Monday!
This weeks fav album in the studio is Paramore This Is Why. This album is an incredible experience. Following up from Hard Times, which was all synths and upbeat 80s sounds, This Is Why really comes full circle for Paramore, re-entering their punk roots and keeping their sound open. Great Album, give it a listen!

This weeks fav album in the studio is James Blake Overgrown. Incredible vocals throughout, with standout track Retrograde that features some powerful vocals. Made all the more amazing with the minimalist tracking and attention to detail in the electronics. Give it a listen!

This weeks fav album in the studio is PVRIS EVERGREEN. What an album, PVRIS truly doesn't confine to one genre and develops her sound more and more with each release. The production is incredible and the vocals are full of confidence.

Another video coming next week. Hope you have enjoyed the insight into what we do here at the studio.
Han is a tough one to capture, because she's never standing still! It's not her fault, her music is hard to resist grooving to.

This weeks fav album here in the studio is Ben Folds What Matters Most.
A beautiful blend of rock, pop, classical and even jazz, with subtle harmonies and a nostalgic feel. Love the classic playful Ben Folds vibe of Exhausting Lover and adore the lyrics, melody, piano and strings of Kristine from the 7th Grade. Have a listen.
