If the weather forecast is set to be extremely windy or rainy or you are getting married in summer you should strongly consider an updo.
Once it's in, it's in! No stress, no worrying whether your curls have dropped, no hair blowing over your face when reading your vows! Curls down mixed with wind or rain can be a recipe for a disaster!

She made me feel beautiful, at ease and spoke with me about what products to use on my skin. Formal week!! A handful of schools have their formals throughout the year but the rest have them this week- one crazy busy week coming up!
Even my emotions are high this year as my own son has his formal too.
As I join in on celebrating these milestones with a lot of parents this week, my love and support is with you all; I have no doubt this week will bring many tears for me, when they say they grow up in a blink of an eye, they aren't joking!
Stay safe at your formals and schoolies year 12's and don't forget to give your parents lots of cuddles this week cos they will need it!!!

One thing I look back and regret is that I never had maternity photos taken myself- how beautiful are these pics, and just how amazing is the female body to grow a baby!

I have the pleasure of doing around 70 weddongs a year; I love meeting so many different people, I love making my clients feel confident and beautiful and I love sharing their most special day with them and being there for them when they are feeling stressed and anxious.

Wedding days can be tough, crazy early starts, 8 hours of intense focus 5 cm from your face 🤣, no breaks, and intense pressure to always deliver your absolute best but awards like this make it all worth it!

Golds and warm browns to the eye has to be my favourite combination with olive skin. My stunning bride had the most amazing eyes so I really wanted to accentuate them while keeping her look soft and classic.

Using one of my favourite pigments by in antique gold- these shimmers are my go to for a stunning shimmer that sparkles but still looks classy 🥰

What a month already 🥰 So many brides this month- 4 alone this week, how lucky am I to have such an important role in my brides weddings!

I'm taking a short break with the fam tomorrow, but will be back in 5 days for my remaining 3 weddings this month. As always I will still be available on email and phone, my delays may just be a bit longer while I rangle kids and a naughty pup!

Last week saw lots of formal girls in to be glammed up. This gorgeous girl wanted blue shadow to match her dress- we decided on a silver in the lid with a blue contour to keep the look modern and fresh. Absolutely loving it 😍
Tied it in with a soft half up with waves- she looked amazing! What do you think?

Unpopular opinion- but why I no longer do a schedule for the wedding morning and just a start time.....

I've tried it and it just doesn't work and here's why....

Let's say Julie and Maria are first up, Julie is having makeup and Maria is hair- they are scheduled 7- 8 am ..but Maria has a bob and actually is complete by 7.40- Julie and Maria therefore can't just swap.
The next in line for hair was Nana Sue- but Nana Sue wasn't due until 8 am so hasnt arrived yet.
So for that 20 mins the hairstylist is just sat waiting....fast forward another few services down the line and Georgia arrives with hair down to her waist- she is going to need longer than what is left and is a stress to get her finished on time when we could have used Maria's left over 20 mins.

Are you catching on to the difficulty here!

So instead my brides get a start time and we ask for as many to be present as possible (apart from flower girls but that's a whole other post about when they should be done!) . We can then get the next person to jump in the chair when needed creating a relaxed but on time wedding morning!!

An exception to this is the 18 service bridal party I just had to organise where an order was required as the girls are all in separate hotel rooms!

Sleek, glamorous and timeless- this look just oozes all this and more!
I always recommend to stay away from 'Makeup trends' this is not the time to be trying a gold glitter cut crease that you saw a celebrity once wearing and thought you might like to give it a go yourself. I recommend on keeping your hair and makeup timeless so that you will always love your photos for years to come!
