Earlier this year, Australian mountaineer Ken Hutt (63), set off to do something that's never been done before - to climb then fly a solo paraglider from Mt Everest legally, all in the name of raising funds and awareness for Rotary's End Polio Now campaign. An epic story of adventure, sacrifice and daring - with an incredible ending no-one saw coming.

All proceeds from ticket sales and any other donations related to this screening go directly to Rotary's End Polio Now campaign and are matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation at the rate of $2 for every $1 (effectively tripling the value) before being put to work in eradicating Polio from this planet forever. You will be issued with a tax-deductible receipt on checkout for ticket purchases and any further donations you may choose to give. Also, 100% of the booking fee proceeds from this site goes to the Humanitix children's charities.

Members of the Fly from Everest climbing team will be at the cinema for the screening and will provide a short introduction and then a Q & A session with the audience at the film's conclusion.

Each morning flow will focus on mobility, connection to your centre and breath through discomfort.

Originally practicing for climbers at , Taylor is a climber too! And has understanding of a climbers experiences and what we need to connect with our bodies.

Yonder Movement specialises in Vinyasa Yoga. Connecting the mind, the body and the breath.

We look forward to kicking off Saturday & Sunday with a morning flow…closely followed by a nice hot coffee…what could be better!! We’ll have a small amount of mats, so if you are hoping to attend we do encourage you to bring your own :)

Hear from Emily, an Australian climber, the founder of Climb & Wine, a group formed to encourage women to build skills and knowledge, and become confident to join the climbing community. Emily is an Early Childhood Teacher, Children's book author, rock climber, Mountaineer and adventure lover.

Speaker: Glenn Phipps

Topic: Flexibility, Injury Prevention, Performance Training

Glenn Phipps is an in-demand Exercise Physiologist has worked with a wide range of athletes, elite and professional across many sports. His in-clinic clients include the broken and injured, or just those that want to move better. He has also appeared across media on ESPN, FOX sports, and has written for many publications such as Mens Health, as well as consulted for product development and has even been engaged by the military and SAS to help have our soldiers move better and avoid injury.

Glenn will be at BETA’22 to provide some epic, high quality insights in to movement, flexibility & performance training. We’re super keen to get this awesome knowledge at the festival! One not to be missed!

Speaker: Damien Gildea


Topic: Between The Lines. How We Talk About Climbing And Why

Damien is the author of 'Mountaineering In Antarctica', is a Contributing Editor for the American Alpine Journal and has been a regular writer for Alpinist magazine and other mountain publications. He has been climbing for 30 years, making first ascents in Antarctica and the Himalaya and climbing in various ranges in between. He has guided two ski expeditions to the South Pole.

We're pumped to hear from such an experienced communicator of our sport in ways we can continue to move forward & grow. Let's Go!!

Sarah is an extraordinary individual, a gold and silver medallist whilst representing Australia in Paraclimbing at World Cups...our first IFSC World Cup medals btw 🔥, and who also plays incredible role with Adaptive Climbing Victoria and Able Climbing NSW.

Topic: Building and supporting the adaptive climbing community.

The talk will be based on the experiences of Adaptive Climbing Victoria and Able Climbing to share how people can start their own adaptive climbing group, how the community and gyms can support adaptive climbers and help make climbing more accessible and inclusive for people with disabilities, and the opportunities to get involved in adaptive climbing around Australia.
