Did you put off cleaning your chimney this year, there is still time.
We had an eventful training run last night in all aspects fire hose, everyone was involved and gave all members a great hands on to deploying a hose at a fire.
Great effort.
We are live with our 2025 fundraiser online is good to go by clicking this link https://fundraise.goodfridayappeal.com.au/fundraisers/OceanGrove and following the online donation page we are pushing for a bumper year in 2025.
Hi Community, Last nights training took us out on site on a barmy winters night we have been lucky enough to team up with and be walked through a new build. For our new members it was great for them to see a structure without plaster and for our longer serving members great for them to refresh.
We also put our BA (breathing apparatus) support vehicle through its paces and ran a real life practice drill.
All in all a great night had by all.
A big welcome aboard to Simona, seen here with our Captain presenting her new turn out gear, congratulations on serving your community.
Last nights training has seen 75% of our brigade go through the training for CFA’s new radio rollout.
It was around 40 years ago, just after the Ash Wednesday fire in which it was found that radios are a very necessary tool for firefighters.
Radios have come a long way since then and the new radios are going to make our kid as firefights a lot easier and much safer.
A special thanks to Paul Hicks from Queenscliff for running the session for us.
As we start the international volunteer week we would like to thank all our volunteers and all our fellow agencies around us, with out these remarkable people we could not have these community services.
This Week is international volunteer week, so please get behind our CFA Volunteers.

A welcome back to the brigade to Lee Bickley we hope you enjoy your time in the Brigade.
A fantastic effort again by Ocean Grove Secretary. My father's units banner on display at the Station. A time for reflection, respect and acknowledgement for all our personnel that have served in the defence of our great country. We owe all our veterans a show of gratitude not just on ANZAC Day, but every day. Thanks Gillian and Jean.
Lest we forget.
Noel
A proud Veteran.
Hi Community let’s get behind our diggers
Feel free to share; Anzac commemorations at OG Park
Great effort Torquay and all who helped out.
Hi Community, many people are now checking batteries and testing their smoke alarms, what many people are unaware of is that smoke alarm units have a use by date also.
If your house is over 10 years old, your smoke alarm could already be out of date and need to be replaced.
You can check inside your alarm for the date stamp.
Keep safe and check your alarm use by date.
Welcome aboard Luke, may you have many years with us at Ocean Grove Fire Brigade.
Our Captain Andrew presents Luke with his wildfire PPC (personal protective clothing) on Monday night.
Before you head to bed, don’t forget to check your smoke alarms, clocks may change automatically but smoke alarm batteries can’t.
