Problem generating machine by Clayton J Kuzma The problem generating machine is a metaphor used to help understand a part of the mind's nature to focus on problems, dangers, threats etc.
A link a client sent through that is currently going through our relationships program - sometimes you can get good insight in random ways.

Our first little creative pursuit in animation explainer videos. At certain periods we will notice our mind tends to focus on problems, so it's well worth learning to hold our thoughts lightly in these periods instead grasping at them as absolute truths.

Here is one of the topics I cover in my eGuide and the upcoming Online Course The Craft Of Relationships For Men.
Change is inevitable in relationships. Sometimes I see that relationships get stuck because their is an unwillingness or lack of awareness around the signs in relationships that things need to change. This does not mean separation, rather that roles, expectations and ideas about the other person and relationship need to be adjusted to more align with the reality of where things are at.
To learn more you can download the complete free eGuide or for a more in depth exploration and practical application of these principles I invite you to join my next 4 week Online Course staring in Feb.

Getting ready to release my new eGuide and Course - A liberated Life. Focused on sharing the core principles and skills to transform the way you deal with your mind, mental health and emotions to create a meaningful life.
THE CRAFT OF RELATIONSHIP SERIES:
Just about every guy has experienced these at some point in their relationship.
• To many small issues tuning into big arguments and problems
• Difficulty communicating and working out issues
• Difficulty connecting with your partner
• Tired of trying to fix things when it just makes things worse
• Getting told that you do not listen, support or understand them
• Confused on how to make things better
One approach that tends to trigger or amplify difficult periods in relationships is our tendency (this is a broad generalisation) to default to what I call a ‘fixing mode of mind’ we try to solve things in a logical/rational way and forget the emotional component. We forget to tap into our ability to connect emotionally first then try to solve (if required). Or tapping into the ‘connecting mode of mind’. The fixing and connecting mode of minds are like two wings of a bird, but broadly speaking we get stuck only using one wing/one mode. Inevitably the tension/conflict/dissatisfaction that arises in the relationship will show us that what we are doing is not working.
To learn more on how to find a balance between the connecting and fixing modes you can visit our website.
NAVIGATING THE MIND SERIES: The state of our mind has such power over our lives, how we feel, interact and behave. When we become excessively, entangled and stuck in our thoughts we tend to begin to excessively worry, overthink, ruminate and will tend to lose our sense of clarity, skill of decision making and what matters to us. During these periods we may begin experiencing feelings like stress, anxiety or low mood. At these times 'The Art of Defusion' can help us step back from our minds and regain perspective in the situation and our lives. Here are a few ways we can begin gaining some space and defusing from our thoughts.
Just a few tips lads about a couple of things we can commonly get stuck doing at times in our relationships. They don't really work or lead to the outcomes we are aiming for. Even when our intentions may be good they may not necessarily be wise.
You can learn more about how to successfully navigate your relationship, improve communication, repair and reconnect in our short course: here https://www.psychologyformen.com.au/landing-page/
So true, we can spend so much time thinking and getting nowhere. When we can rest into the quietness of mind a whole new source of experience arises.
