It is with great sadness that Royal Park Brunswick Cricket Club advises all past and present members of the passing of Neil Kimpton.

Neil was as loyal a supporter of the club that you could come across. Even greater was his passion for his son Tom’s triumphs along the way. Neil gave an incredible amount of time to RPBCC, including being the clubs 1st eleven scorer for a number of years, and hosting overseas recruits - many of whom consider the new relationship with Neil as a highlight of their trip.

Our thoughts are with Jill, Tom, Sarah and the wider Kimpton family during this difficult time.

A celebration of the life of Neil will take place at the Lomond Hotel on Friday the 19th of July from 1pm.

All members both past and present that knew Neil are encouraged to attend.

Royal Park Brunswick Cricket Club is seeking a playing coach for the 2024/2025 season.

Under the leadership and direction of a successful playing coach, our goal is to build and maintain a winning culture across all of our playing elevens and maximise community involvement & participation through our club.

RPBCC is currently fielding three senior men’s playing elevens in the Mercantile Cricket Association with a strategic plan to increase this total in the coming seasons.

Our recently renovated clubrooms along with our training and playing facilities are located in the heart of the Royal Park precinct, on Park Street in Parkville.

In order to be considered a suitable candidate for the coaching position, you must be able to demonstrate the below criteria:

- Previous coaching experience at a Senior Community Cricket level (preferred)
- Experience in implementing training schedules from the commencement of pre season.
- Capacity to facilitate training two nights per week, with the assistance of a training co-ordinator.
- Experience in providing one-on-one technical coaching where requested.
- Influence and implement game day strategies.

A remuneration package will be offered based on your experience and qualifications; this offer is negotiable.

The Parkers have announced their teams for this weekend after two weeks of no play.

The 1’s and 3’s will be at home, with the 2’s making the short journey to Altona.

Congrats to all the guys either making their club or team debut, go well! 🎉

Due to issues with ground availability, the VTCA has made a fixture change to maximise the chances of play. The 1sts will now kick off our season at home against Altona Roosters tomorrow.
Play has already been cancelled for the 2nds and 3rds. Congratulations to Ben Wright, Lucas Wright, Navin Bhatt and Lister Cooray on their 1s debut.

Sam Youds returns to RPBCC after a successful first season with the club in 2022/23 as head coach for the 2023/24 season.

1st XI Captain: Dan Hasenkam
Dan Hasenkam returns to the helm of the 1s at RPBCC for the 2023/24 season. Dan has been a premiership winning member of the club and has also led the club's first XI to the finals in the 2017/18 season.

2nd XI Captain: Chris Neagle
Chris Neagle has once again put his hand up to lead the 2s after playing in the 1s for the past 5 seasons. The last time Chris led the 2s was in the 2017/18 season when the 2s won the premiership.

Congratulations to James Park Johnson on being awarded our division’s player of the year!!! James amassed 481 runs at an average of 48.1, grafted 16 wickets at 18.0 and took 6 catches. Well done James on a fantastic season!!

Congratulations to Chris Neagle and James Park-Johnson, with both players scoring hundreds today. James scored 100 not out in the 1st XIs victory over Kingsville and Chris scored 103 of the teams 133 in the 2nd XI.

UPDATE - There will be no games for our 2nd and 3rd XIs today as the opposition for each of these grades have forfeited. The 1sts are playing away at Keilor Park and will be the only RPBCC team in action today.

RPBCC ENews - 21st January 2023 Two day cricket last week returned to the VTCA and continues again this week. The progressive scores of the 1st and 2nd XI matches can be found below, as well as last weekends 3rd XI's one day fixture result and this weekends fixture.

The Annual RPBCC Reverse Raffle will be held at the clubrooms on the 21st of January 2023. The raffle will begin at approximately 7.30pm and will follow the 1st XI's home game against Greenvale.

Prizemoney will be a minimum of $1,500 and tickets are $20 each, three for $50 or seven for $100 with payment preferred to club account (details below).

For those who have purchased a ticket and who will attending on the night, a BBQ dinner will be provided at no additional cost. Drinks will be available at bar prices, with drink specials to be announced on the night. It is also another opportunity to check out our new clubrooms for those that haven't already seen the rooms.

CHRISTMAS BREAK-UP

The club will be hosting its annual Christmas Break-Up/Party at the clubrooms on the 17th of December, kicking off at approximately 6.30 pm following the completion of the home fixtures being played on Western and Ransford Ovals.

Food and drinks will be available to be purchased from the bar, with partners and kids encouraged to attend. For catering purposes, please let Andrew Hinkley know (0422 069 855) if you are planning on bringing children so food and activity arrangements can be made.

We will also be running a Bad Santa on the Night. If you would like to participate please bring a wrapped gift with a maximum spend of $20. For those that do not know how a 'Bad Santa' works, all gifts will be placed in the middle of the group. Numbers will be drawn for those participating to determine the order in which participants pick gifts. The catch is that the person selecting has the choice of two options. Option 1 - open a new gift from the pile, or option 2 'steal' a gift from someone who has already opened theirs. The higher the number you receive, the more gifts you have to chose from....but beware someone else can always steal your gift!.
