In short:
Advocates today have rallied against the NSW government, calling for measures to ensure new residential dwellings in the state meet certain accessibility guidelines.
In 2022, the National Construction Code introduced a mandatory standard in accessibility. However, NSW is one of two jurisdictions to not opt in.
Advocates and researchers say adopting such guidelines has long-term cost benefits and would improve the quality of life for people who are disabled.

In continuation of NRW, Amputees NSW and AMP CAMP would like to shout out to Brett and Chris from Bilingarra who joined us in March to share history and create connection through art. Thank you for helping us to better understand and appreciate our lands, our surroundings, and our connection to country.
Amputees NSW thank Brendan from Aboriginal Land Council who provides the Acknowledgement to Country and Smoking Ceremony at our flagship Youth event. We love your story telling and teachings. We also enjoy yarning with other community members about their journeys and history.
