Not your regular emerald = these are Trapiche Emeralds. You need to know thatbif emeralds are rare, trapoches are even more so and highly desired by gemstones collectors and jewellery designers.
Trapiches have a very distinctive inclusion that resembles the six spoke wheels like the ones used in Colombia to grind sugar cane and that's how their name originated.

Our Passion for Gemstones
If the history of our business was to be written in one word it would be PASSION. It all started with the passion for the intriguing characteristics of Colombian emeralds that Luis, owner of GWA, had since childhood as emeralds have been his family’s business for generations (established in Colombia). He grew surrounded by the precious gemstone; hearing and actually seeing and enjoying the process of mining the gem all the way through having it cut, polished and set into stunning jewellery.
Aiming to develop better practices for the daily operations with emeralds his parents had to encounter Luis decided to become a chemical engineer. This career path allowed him to fully understand the composition and physical qualities of gems. Later in life, Luis moved to Australia where he commenced studies in Laboratory operations. This complemented his comprehension on the subject but not being enough, he became a Gemmologist and as a result his knowledge craving for precious gemstones only grew stronger and he resolved to dedicate to their wholesale; was then when GWA was born.
He perceived the market need for good quality natural gems that where accessible to the final customer without the huge markup. A GWA Boutique specialised in colour gemstones was open to the public offering custom made jewellery that features stunning natural gemstones and the possibility for each and every customer to be educated on the gem of interest.
At GWA, we are interested in making sure you understand the uniqueness of every piece we create, answering all your questions and knowing you are satisfied with your purchase is our goal.
