World Cancer Day is an international awareness day led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) celebrated on February 4 every year. Cancer is caused by an uncontrolled, abnormal growth of cells in the body that causes lump or tumour in most causes. We urge you to know your body and if you ever unsure or concerned about a change (big or small) please get it checked early with your GP.

Childhood Immunisation

Vaccinating your child against childhood disease plays a very important part in your child’s health and well-being

Our doctors and nurses are available to discuss childhood immunisation with parents. We offer a safe and happy environment for your child when having their immunisation. We all know how important it is for your child to have a “good” experience when this time comes around.

When your child/children are due for their vaccination, please telephone and book a consultation with both the doctor and the nurse. The doctor will discuss with you the risks and benefits of immunisation and then our nurse will give the injections.

Please welcome Practice Nurse Chris to our team!

Chris began his nursing career in 1999 as an Enrolled Nurse and progressed to completing his BSc in Registered Nursing in 2002. With 23 years of experience, Chris has held various clinical and leadership roles in ICU and Critical Care Units across Perth, WA. Most recently, Chris has completed a Masters of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) at Edith Cowan University in June 2023.

Since 2021, Chris has led a community-based virtual home health service, offering remote care to heart failure and COPD patients across Australia. He’s a member of multiple professional organisations including the Australian College of Nurse Practitioners, the Australian College of Critical Care Nurses, and the Australasian Sexual Health and HIV Nurses Association.

Chris is dedicated to continuous education and has a keen interest in chronic disease management and sexual health/HIV care. His expertise in cardiac and respiratory care equips him to advise patients on conditions like high blood pressure, cholesterol, coronary artery disease, and COPD.

We are thrilled that Chris will be joining us for;

Tuesday 8:00am - 4:30pm and
Wednesday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Please welcome Dr Madeleine to our team!

Dr Madeleine studied medicine at the University of Western Australia and then worked at Royal Perth Hospital and King Edward Memorial Hospital where she completed a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRANZCOG).

Following this she lived overseas and worked in England and Ireland, gaining extra experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Psychiatry and Paediatrics, where she did a Diploma in Paediatrics (RCPI) and then started in General Practice. She then returned home to Perth to complete GP training with RACGP.

Madeleine loves being back in Perth with her young family, enjoying the beautiful weather and outdoor lifestyle.

Her special interests include;

· Paediatrics
· Women’s Health
· Pregnancy and postnatal care
· Contraception insertion + removal [Implanon, IUD including hormonal and copper]

Lydia graduated from University of Notre Dame Fremantle in 2013 and worked at Fremantle Hospital and Fiona Stanley Hospital for several years before undertaking specialist training in general practice. She thrives on the diversity and challenge of general practice as well as the lifelong commitment to learning.

She has two energetic young sons who keep her busy outside of work. Her selfcare practices include yoga, spending time outdoors and listening to podcasts.

You can help make cervical cancer history.

Cervical Cancer Awareness Week may be coming to an end, but our ability to make cervical cancer a thing of the past carries on.

It’s never been easier to protect yourself and others from cervical cancer.

All that is needed is:

One (1) dose of the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine for young people
+
A cervical screening test every five (5) years for women and people with a cervix from age 25–74 years.
