Kia ora, Malo ni, Talofa lava, Greetings Porirua.
I am hugely honoured to be standing in the Onepoto Ward for the Porirua City Council. As a son of Porirua, I’m committed to ensuring that the place I was raised in, work in and have deep community roots in, is vibrant and resilient to meet the challenges of the future.
My vision for Porirua is a city that seizes economic development opportunities to improve employment and business prospects; a city that nurtures the community, whether it’s about housing or making us safer; a city that values diversity and also cares about our recreational and cultural life.
Currently there’s a disconnect between our community and the council, so I'm looking to reconnect and rebuild the trust of the community in the council, through transparent and open government, and clear communications.
I also want to ensure that council services will meet our current and future needs, while being financially prudent so that ratepayers and residents aren’t burdened by the costs.
Voting REUELU #1 is saying that you want someone with vision, who will advocate for you at the council table and who can get the job done.

Launch of the Gagana Tokelau Website🇹🇰🧡❤️💙💚
On behalf of Tokelau Education, it is with great excitement that we invite you to the launch of “Te Kupega o te Vateatea o te Gagana Tokelau” (Internet Home of the Tokelau Language) on 29 July 2022.
As many of us are aware, the Tokelau language is classified as vulnerable and endangered by UNESCO because of the declining number of speakers. We cannot let that continue. We want to see our language thrive. And a thriving language is characterized by one that is used widely by different generation of speakers, and advances through increasing the range of domains and purposes it is used for.
Te Kupega o te Vateatea o te Gagana Tokelau is the Kalaga (call to action) by the Government of Tokelau to revitalize, grow and maintain our precious language.
An aspiration to increase the number of Gagana Tokelau speakers by increasing print and digital resources for language and content learning.
On launch day, Te Kupega o te Vateatea o te Gagana Tokelau is home to 123 resources that aim to advance the learning of, not only our students from Years 1 to 13, but anyone who is looking to learn more about Tokelau.
Join us to officially launch Te Kupega o te Vateatea o te Gagana Tokelau and then hand in hand, partner with us on our journey to revitalize and grow Gagana Tokelau.
See you there!
Community announcement: Tulou ni, Kaiga Tokelau i Perth WA community gathering and fundraiser for Rhyme Loto for Sun 3rd July is postponed.

You’re invited to watch Kalaga Atu on the 6th of May, at 7pm. It’s a free online reading with discussion to follow featuring Luke Currie Richardson, Jessica Paraha, Tommy Misa, Malia Letoafa, Sereima Adimate and Te Kaiga WA Akoga Tokelau. Reserve your tickets here: https://events.humanitix.com/kalaga-atu-about-us
Kalaga Atu is a journey across Oceania that transcends time, space and place, calling ancestral wisdom into the lives of five siblings. Each sibling questions their relationship to the bodies they inhabit, the spirits who guide them, and the sand, soil and salt that they love.
Kalaga Atu, meaning ‘to call’ in the Tokelauan language, weaves poetic text and music in a warm performance experience. Written and directed by Tokelauan Fijian storyteller Emele Ugavule, the original performance included original score by Papua New Guinean musician Ngaiire, lighting design by Amber Silk and choreography by Sāmoan dance artist Xavier Breed, calling upon kinship ties between the people of the Great Ocean.
Kalaga Atu was commissioned by the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
This performance is running on the 6th of May at 7pm. Free online reading and post-performance discussion to follow.
Book your spot via the link.
