Zenith Energy is pleased to announce Tim Cipolloni as our new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Tim joined Zenith in early 2021, establishing the Corporate Development team and has been instrumental in leading Zenith’s growth and financing. In addition to his CFO responsibilities, Tim will continue to lead Zenith’s Corporate Development function.

This year Zenith Energy staff spread some much need Christmas cheer to the West Australian families who are struggling, by donating food to Foodbank WA.

In the past 12 months, 208,000 households in WA went hungry due to lack of funds, sometimes going whole days without eating. Yet, over half of food insecure households in WA had someone in paid work. The rising cost of living is the most common reason why more and more people in Australia are struggling to put food on the table.

Zenith Energy is pleased to advise that mining and processing operations have resumed at IGO Ltd’s Nova Operation following a fire which damaged the 10MW power station.

Following the incident on 3 December 2022, Zenith and IGO have worked quickly to identify and deploy 14.9MW of new generation capacity to site. This rapid response has minimised disruption to the Nova Operation, and enabled mining activity to recommence on 11 December 2022, and processing operations to resume on 21 December 2022.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.

Project Update: Solar Farm at Warrawoona

The 4MW DC solar farm has been installed at the CalidusResources Warrawoona Gold Project, when commissioned the solar farm will generate up to 75% of power requirements during daylight hours. A 3.4 MWh AC Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is on schedule for installation in the new year.

A thorough investigation of the cause of the fire that damaged the power station at IGO Ltd's Nova Operation in the Fraser Range last week, is currently underway. We are thankful that no one was injured in the event, and that the IGO Emergency Response Team was able to successfully extinguish the fire.

There was no damage to infrastructure outside the engine hall. The control room, switch room, solar PV, BESS and power distribution network were unaffected. We’re grateful to all stakeholders who have offered us support and we’re confident of working with IGO Ltd, to re-establish the 10MW thermal power supply to bring the Nova Operations back online quickly and safely. We also look forward to powering Nova with 100% renewable energy for up to 9 hours per day during this summer with the newly completed solar farm (pictured) and BESS.

On Saturday night, and well into Sunday morning, team members Rachel Elbers, Lauren Stuart, Markus Weber, Paula Galdies and Eve Jackson participated in the 42km marathon, and contributed to raising over $7,400.

Zenith Energy Pty Ltd (Zenith Energy) announces that it has successfully completed a debt financing process. All existing external debt facilities were refinanced alongside significant committed (but as yet unutilised) limits to support growth capital expenditure related to new generation solutions.

The A$440 million, five year, syndicated debt facilities (the Facilities) were entered into with Westpac Banking Corporation (Westpac), National Australian Bank (NAB), Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), BNP Paribas (BNPP), ANZ Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) and Aware Super (Aware).

To accommodate Zenith Energy’s growth our new larger and 5 Star Green Star designed head office in Rivervale incorporates many sustainable energy features, including self–sufficient power generation from an installed 55kW rooftop solar PV system, and electric vehicle charging stations.
 

Zenith Energy was honoured to have Len and Lisa Collard from Moodjar Consultancy perform a smoking ceremony at the official launch of our new head office in Rivervale. Len is a Whadjuk/Balardong Noongar, the traditional owners of the Perth region.
 
A smoking ceremony is a traditional Noongar ritual used to cleanse and purify a specific area and it also cleanses the spirit, body and soul whilst you are on Noongar Country. It also helps to ward off bad spirits and to bring in the blessings of the good spirits.

Zenith Energy is proud to get behind the MACA Cancer 200 – Ride for Research, with Zenith team members Mitchell Clarke, Jason De Bell, Dominic Da Cruz and Roberto Durso all committing to riding 200km to raise funds for the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. Zenith Energy’s Reconciliation Action Plan was recently approved by Reconciliation Australia, a recognition of our commitment to developing a workplace roadmap to begin the reconciliation journey, and ensure Zenith continues to provide culturally appropriate support, and offer ongoing cross-cultural awareness and training opportunities for staff. As part of our continued development of relationships with Indigenous groups and people, we recently engaged Yamatji elder and Indigenous leader Andrew (Ando) Binsiar to create this piece of artwork, which will be proudly displayed in the boardroom of our new Zenith office, as a reminder of the significance of our ongoing reconciliation journey.

Liontown Resources Limited confirmed today that Zenith Energy has received a Letter of Award to build, own, and operate what is expected to become the largest off-grid renewable energy hybrid power station in Australia, at Kathleen Valley in WA’s Goldfields-Esperance region. It’s an exciting announcement for Zenith, with the 95MW hybrid power station to include wind and solar power generation, as well as a battery energy storage system (BESS). Industry leaders from around the country gathered in Perth this week for the two-day Energy and Mines Australia Summit. Zenith Energy’s Executive ESG & Stakeholder Engagement, Dominic Da Cruz, and Technology & Infrastructure Manager Simon Jelly were among a panel of expert commentators, discussing the integration of onsite power generation and fleet mobility decarbonisation strategies.

Zenith Energy recently acquired its first non-resources asset in Peel Renewable Energy, which also sees us take ownership of the renewable microgrid that is WA’s first to be integrated into an industrial estate – the Peel Renewable Microgrid. As part of the unique deal, Zenith will take on responsibility for the supply of power to Peel Business Park, a new industrial estate south of Perth being developed by DevelopmentWA. The acquisition is the first step in Zenith’s diversification strategy, and puts us at the forefront of Australia’s energy transition.
