🌟SOLOIST SPOTLIGHT🌟

Get ready to be blown away by our amazing soloist that is joining us for Movie Magic this weekend, LANI MELROSE!

Lani Melrose is a WAAPA contemporary vocal alumni, turned lecturer, with 10 years of performance experience. Highlights include working with Guy Sebastian, Melanie Daniels-Walker, Drapht, Mama Kin Spender, Helen Shanahan, BASE Philharmonic Orchestra (Singapore), Perth Symphony Orchestra and the WAAPA Gospel Choir. Lani has supported the likes of Tina Arena and James Taylor, performed as a feature vocalist for Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands orchestral performance of George Michael’s works, and has even sung for the royals - Prince Charles and Camilla.

Having performed around the Perth music scene with a variety of ensembles, Lani’s diverse influences and love for music is evident in her performance. Lani has been a part of numerous artist tribute shows, including Beyonce, Amy Winehouse, Aretha Franklin, D’Angelo, Sharon Jones and The Dapp Kings, and George Michael. Drawing on influences, new and old, of soul, blues, RnB, funk, pop, rock, jazz and more, this vivacious vocalist is sure to impress! From warm, gentle tones to bold, powerhouse belts, Lani will have you experiencing the full spectrum of emotion. Lani’s soulful vocals and charismatic personality will take you on a journey and leave you wanting more.

WHAT A NIGHT! 🤩

We had an absolutely spook-tacular time at Dreams & Nightmares last weekend, and are still reeling from the response we've received! Our orchestra got right into the Halloween spirit and wore a fantastic array of costumes, and we even had some some of our amazing audience members do the same 🧙‍♀️ A massive thank you again to Jessica Blunt - Soprano for joining us and for bringing the house down with her performance - it was truly magical.

🌟SOLOIST SPOTLIGHT🌟

Joining us for our Dreams & Nightmares concert this coming Saturday is the remarkable Jessica Blunt! Here's a little more info about our amazing soloist for the evening:

Soprano Jessica Blunt is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, London (MA Performance with Distinction and hon. Dip RAM) and Sydney Conservatorium of Music (MMus Opera Performance and BMUS Performance). In London, Jessica was invited to sing with the English National Opera for their Dance for Ukraine Gala at the London Coliseum, as well as performing for the Tait Memorial Trust as a scholar in both 2021 & 2022.

A two-time recipient of the Henderson Travellers’ scholarship, Jessica debuted in Mozart’s ‘Le nozze di Figaro’ (CONTESSA) at the 2018 Mediterranean Opera Studio & Festival in Sicily, and in Die Zauberflöte’ (FIRST LADY) at the 2019 Manhattan Opera Studio, New York. In New York, she also performed as a soloist in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall.

In Australia, Jessica performed in the chorus of Opera Australia in ‘Don Giovanni’ and ‘La traviata.’ She was soprano soloist for Sydney Town Hall’s ‘Messiah’ in 2019 and was regular soloist for St Mary’s Cathedral’s ‘Red Mass’. Most recently, Jessica won the Fremantle Eisteddfod’s Operatic Aria division and performed as a soloist for West Australian Opera’s ‘Morning Melodies’ at His Majesty’s Theatre.
