Earlier this year we engaged Gagu Art to assist with our off-field uniform design. We are excited to announce that the design is complete and will be worn on the training singlets and off-field uniforms for our representative teams, club members and supporters.

A massive thanks to Kaisha and Kylah Jetta for designing this artwork and helping us understand our story.

We can't wait to see the design worn around the club soon!

Registrations are now open for our Southern Stars 2024/2025 Summer Social touch season!

- Starts Monday 7th October
- 15 weeks, including 2 weeks of finals (everyone plays)
- $110 per player (plus $42 affiliation fee)
- 4 general BYES, with finals played in Feb 2025

🌟🌟 FAMILY LEAGUE IS BACK! 🌟🌟

On October 7th… Family League will kick off for Summer 2024/25.

This is a fantastic opportunity for parents and carers to engage in some fun footy action with their kids. Family League is completely separate to our Junior and Youth Stars program which is currently underway.

- Starting 7 October and running through to 10 February
- Just $40 per player*, games at 6:30pm on Monday nights
- Modified rules for the benefit of the kids enjoyment and development

If you would like to participate but don't have a full team, email us to let us know and we will try and help you form a team. Unfortunately we are not able to accept requests like "my child would like to play" as this is a social competition/league and not a managed/facilitated coaching program.

*an additional $42 per person in affiliate fees ($22 TFA, $20 TFWA) will apply to anyone (adult or child) that has not registered into a Touch program since 1 July 2024. This is a fee paid once per year irrespective of how many competitions/clubs you play at in Australia.

⭐⭐ JUNIOR REFEREES ⭐⭐

Over the Winter 2024 season we had three junior referees get their upgrades to Level 2!

If any kids (or adults) would like to become a referee please come and talk to us. There are lots of opportunities to get into refereeing and we are happy to give you specific training, in-game coaching and support to help you progress through the ref pathway. It's fitness, confidence, leadership and pocket money rolled into one!

Our Junior Stars Program kicks off on Monday 2 September. This is for age groups U8-U14! Registrations are open, please head to our website to register now.

The Youth Stars Program (U17) begins on Wednesday 4 September, same night as the Men's, Mixed and Women's Rep Sport teams in preparation for TFWA Super League Series.

Our 2024/2025 Summer Season at Southern Stars will commence on Monday 7 October. Make sure you start getting your teams together now! Registrations will open soon.

Lastly, there's a tentative date of Sunday 13 October listed as the first round of the TFWA Super League Series. More info around this to follow.

⭐⭐ GRAND FINALS NIGHT ⭐⭐

Tonight is the last night of the 2024 Winter Season for Southern Stars Touch Football and we're excited to see who gets crowned champion and who can eat the most pizza!

Couple of things to note for tonight:
- After your game, please get your Team Manager to collect your drink vouchers and pizzas from the office.
- Presentations will be held after the 7.20pm games, please make plans to hang around!

Thank you to our committee, especially Socials Coordinator Matt Cooper, our referees, especially Breanne Burton for getting them all organised and allocated each week, our players and family supporters. Winter is always a hard season to get through but you've made it, congratulations!!!

Special shout out to the new teams who joined us this year, it's been great to have you down at Southern. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for summer, which kicks off on Monday 7 October.

Our thoughts are with the Simpkins family following the loss of Joey over the weekend.

Always a true competitor on the field, he will be missed by the entire touch football community.

Our hearts are broken as we try to comprehend the loss of Joey, who tragically lost is life on 11th August.

He brought light and energy into the room, the life and soul of his rugby & touch community. When he wasn’t playing (and playing up 😂 )he was giving back, a true club man.

Loved by everyone and a smile that could get him out of trouble, your BH fam will miss you beyond words.

⭐⭐ FINALS SEASON ⭐⭐

Finals begin on Monday night. That's right, two rounds of crazy awesome finals action!!!!! Or just a social touch footy run for the next two weeks at George Burnett Park under lights, however you wanna spin it is cool. Cool cool cool cool cool cool cool.

Monday night 12 August we start with semi-final playoffs for the top four teams in mens and mixed competitions. The rest of the teams have a plate final to play which is equally as amahzing.

Monday 19 August we are all about being SOCIAL because that's what this is, a touch football social comp. Everyone will be playing this night regardless of results from the week before and everyone is invited to get some pizza, beer and watch the medal presentations. That's right, you get a PIZZA and YOU get a PIZZA!!! Not to mention some beer and great times sitting around with your mates, debriefing the season and having a chat while waiting to see who gets crowned as the best social winter touch football team EVER (well maybe not ever but definitely at Southern for 2024).

🏅🏅 2024/25 OPENS COACH ANNOUNCEMENTS 🏅🏅

We're so excited to announce our coaches for the Mens, Mixed & Womens representative programs and our new Youth Pathways Program for 2024/25.

Fresh back from the World Cup (and USA) Rory Edwards will lead the Mens Open with Daniel Garic. The Mixed Open will continue to be led by Liam Marama, recently back from World Cup! The Womens Open will have Kristi Collins and Mitch Collins (who are not back from World Cup 😬).

Adam Sutherland will lead our Youth Pathways Program for the first time. Adam will support all three opens teams as we try to promote our Under 18’s to transition to the Opens programs. We’ve seen massive growth in juniors and youth participation over the past 5 years but the club now wants to focus on them taking the leap from juniors to opens.

Details about the first training will be posted soon!

⭐⭐ ROUND 8 FIXTURES ⭐⭐

Current fixtures for tonight! Just keep an eye on socials and try to head down a little earlier tonight, just in case we have to shuffle fields due to an issue with the light towers (which hopefully will be fixed today).

Only THREE rounds of the comp before finals! Everyone plays BOTH weeks of finals, with pizza, drinks and presentations on Grand Finals night - 19 August.

Please note, if your name is NOT on the team sheet, you will not be able to take the field during either the semi final or grand final rounds. Come and see us at the office if you need to resolve this.
