Dear diary,

Well, its finally here! Our return to the Premier Divison is finally upon us, first time since 2008 and I must say, my excitement has perhaps bubbled over somewhat into my domestic life. Just this morning, Danelle caught me organising the salt and pepper shakers, along with the ketchup and mayo bottles, into our defensive corner set up to ensure there were no gaping holes. She seemed more concerned about not receiving her cup of tea than appreciating the strategic placing of the mustard. I guess not everyone appreciates the art...

My poor wife, bless her, has been a saint—enduring my nightly pep talks that I practice in front of our bathroom mirror. It's crucial to get the motivational tone just right, although last night's rendition of "What we do in life echoes in eternity" might have been a tad too vigorous.

To keep in peak coaching form, I've replaced all household alarms with recordings of stadium crowds. Nothing quite like waking up to the sound of fifty thousand fans to get the blood racing. Danelle disagrees. Apparently, it's "weird" and "slightly terrifying." I offered to change it to the sound of a referee's whistle, but that suggestion was met with even less enthusiasm.

As for the team, the boys are looking sharp and up for the biggest challenge of the last few years - an away trip to last years reigning champions Emerald SC. We know its going to be tough but I can see in their eyes they are raring and ready to go. Dion's even told me he wont moan at all on Sunday and do whatever I ask of him; we'll see about that...

The ressies have been looking sharp, and the depth we have for them this year is frightening. The metros are building in numbers and confidence, and its very exciting to have 3 senior teams again for the first time in a while at the club. I hope we get a good amount of support at the games as we definitely play best when we have our fans supporting us!

Hopefully I can get a good night sleep tonight as I know I wont sleep a wink on Saturday!!

Dear diary,

Today we played Dunsborough Town in the 3rd round of the the Australia Cup, and boy was it a great day! Great weather, great support from the community, we made plenty of money in fines, and everyone helped out from setting up to packing down!

We won a very exciting game 5-4, having been 5-1 up and playing good football! Jonah got a double, Dion was sharp and got another, Hif finished a beautiful team move, and Robby P found his scoring boots and got one!

We have such a great squad, a good bunch of boys with quality and depth, I’m really looking forward to our first year back in the Amateur Prem!
