We’re looking for a new physiotherapist to join our team! Preferably someone with a few years of clinic practice experience. The role can be part-time or full-time for the right applicant. Hours required are Saturday mornings fortnightly, Tuesday and Thursday afternoon shifts 1-6pm. These can all be negotiable depending on requirements.

This week is all about different types of dynamic stretches and the techniques for each movement. Listed below are the 6 exercises we will be focusing on and how to properly complete the exercises.
1. Hip opener/gate opener
- Feet hip-width apart and transfer your weight to your right side.
- Lift your left knee up and across your body to hip height or higher, then abduct to the left, opening your hip as far as you can without over-stretching
- Then reverse the motion, adducting the leg in and back to starting position
- Repeat on the other side
2. Trunk rotations
- Keep your feet shoulder-width apart and knees slightly bent.
- Twist your torso to the left, then to the right, and relax your hips and knees.
3. High knees
- Stand upright
- Start jogging in place; bring one knee toward your chest
- When the foot returns and touches the floor, simultaneously bring the other knee toward the chest
4. Arm circles
- Stand up straight with the feet shoulder-width apart.
- Hold the arms out to the sides, keeping them at the height of the shoulders.
- Move the arms in a circular motion (clockwise and anticlockwise). Start with small circles and gradually widen them.
5. Open Book
- lying on your side with your feet in line with the back of your pelvis.
- Lift the top arm up and over behind your back. Follow your hand with your eyes. Concentrate on keeping the pelvis and lower legs still and facing forwards.
- You can pause in the rotation to take a few breaths. This will encourage your mid back (thoracic) rotation as well as rib mobility.
- Breathe out as you bring the arm back around to the start position.
- Repeat
6. Toe touches:
- Stand in a natural position with your feet hip-width apart.
- Move your hips slightly back and slide your arms down your thighs and shins, toward your feet.
- Keeping your back straight, lower to the point of mild discomfort.
Back to the grind!
