Aruna with 3 and Gayanga 2. Reshan bowled a brilliant spell and got 2 wickets. Mindula and Kusal with wicket each.

Ramitha and Lahiru opened the batting. SCC managing to chase down the target in the 14th over.

Controversy was looming over the tournament, as a few teams exploited the tournament rules and registered multiple players heading into the last six games of the tournament.

Player behavior on the field and off the field has been appalling.

Hat's off to the tournament organisers for their rapid action.

S.C.C. will stay true to the squad of 27 cricketers that got S.C.C. into the top three on the ladder. A special mention to the team of 20 players that registered and played cricket to the highest standards. 👏🏼

Round 12. S.C.C vs Buffaloes C.C

It was a freezing winter morning. Our initial plan was to bat first, but the Buffaloes' captain won the toss and decided to bat. S.C.C. used the new ball extremely well during the powerplay taking regular wickets. Limiting an explosive batting lineup to 122.

Even though S.C.C. felt it was an achievable target, S.C.C. couldn't get over the line. Our top order collapsed in the power play, and although the middle-order batters tried hard, it wasn't enough.
The best part of the game was that nobody gave up until the last moment, which was great. It was not easy to field in those weather conditions, but the boys put in a good effort and managed to make some good catches. Even though we didn't end up winning, S.C.C. is proud of the way the boys played.

The unfortunate incident after the game combined with the Maylands game has made the team stronger. A defining moment for S.C.C.

S.C.C. hope to play a stacked Buffaloes team in the finals!

Round 11 Perth Winter Cup. S.C.C VS Maylands Friends CC.
A gloomy winters day set the tone of a controversial game. Plus not having an official umpire set the tempo of the game. This was a disappointing out come for the teams. A let down by the tournament organisers.

Nevertheless the game must go on. Maylands won the toss and sent S.C.C in to bat.

We couldn't get the win. S.C.C lost as a team. However we gained valuable experience and match awareness that will be extremely useful as we head in to the last 6 game in the preliminary stages.

Keep up the good work S.C.C!

Round 10 Perth Winter Cup. S.C.C vs Perth Panthers CC.
It was a gorgeous sunny winters day with a chance of a shower or two in the afternoon. Panthers won the toss and elected to bat.

Even though S.C.C got the points, we consider it as a draw. S.C.C won the bowling contest. However lost the batting contest , we are looking forward to playing the panthers again. Unfortunately, we won't get that opportunity unless it's in the finals.

Round 9 Perth Winter Cup. S.C.C. vs Little Boys.
Perfect sunny winters day for an afternoon cricket match. Previous encounter was won by the LittleBoys CC. Toss was won by SCC and putting LittleBoys Club.

LittleBoys Club Setting a target of 131 to win. S.C.C getting the win with one wicket to spare. Great game.

Round 8 Perth Winter Cup. S.C.C. vs Geratrachnids.
A sunny Saturday afternoon with rain forecast for late afternoon. The Spiders won the toss and elected to bat first.

It was a excellent game played in great spirits. We learnt a lot from this game playing against veterans of the game. It was a great battle of the minds with S.C.C getting the win.

Round 7 Perth Winter Cup. S.C.C. vs Spiders.
S.C.C didn't get the win this week. We were out played by the Spiders. It was a nail biting thriller that when down to the last 2balls. Well played Spiders 👏🏼. Looking forward to the next encounter.

Round 6 Perth Winter Cup. S.C.C. vs Young Guns.
Saturdays Wether wasn't the best. Scattered clouds with showers forecast around 11am.

Team Captain Sheran De Silva still out for this week and Interim Captain Dilshan De Mel hoped to make it 2 wins in a row.

Young Guns Captain won the toss and elected to bat under wet conditions. S.C.C restricting Y.G to 7/129. Due to rain the target was revised to 109 off 16 overs. S.C.C reaching the target in 10 over wining the game by 7 runs.

The Game was decided by DLS. We look forward to playing the Young Guns again. A team full of talented cricketers, captained well by Callen Hill. 👏🏼

Round 5 Perth Winter Cup. S.C.C. vs Jo's Angels.
Saterday was a absolute gorgeous day for Cricket.

Few changes to the team this week. Club captain Sheran De Silva took a week off to rest his injured hammy from last week and Dilshan De Mel took reigns as interim captain. Club also welcomed Lashan Wanigasekera for his first game and was also glad have our main strike bowler big Don Kusal Galagana and ever reliable Hashan Dharmatilke back in the side.

Toss won by Surge CC and elected to bat given the slippery nature of the ground.

PlayHQ dropped out of live scoring occasionally but no issues with recording all data from the game. Great effort to the team on getting the issues sorted out in a timely manner.

Round 4 Perth Winter Cup. S.C.C vs Swedish XI.
The weather cleared just in time for a brilliant game. Once again PlayHQ didn't register all the team scores at the end of the match. All data was lost.

Brilliant 50 by Colby for Swedish XI and Kavindu from S.C.C top scoring with an aggressive 49.

It's disappointing that all the players' individual performances were lost. Wonder how the tournament organisers will decide on player of the tournament, best batsman, best bowler etc. Even the winner of the tournament when point for wins and losses are recorded incorrectly.

We hope this issue will be solved ASAP!

We look forward to our next encounter with the Swedish XI. Anytime you would like a practice match we are ready to play.

Round 3 Perth Winter Cup. S.C.C vs. LittleBoys Club.

S.C.C. didn’t get the result we wanted, but the team will learn from it and come back stronger. We put up a target of 131, and due to an unfortunate fielding incident, the target had to be revised to 118 off 16 overs.

Overall, it was a good game, played in great spirits.
Congratulations to Little Boys CC.

Round two. Perth Winter Cup. S.C.C vs Southern Spartans. Unfortunately, PlayHQ was down. Had to manually score. S.C.C 9/136 off 20. Spartans were bowed out in the 17th over for 100. 27/4/24
