Last week selected students from senior concert band and senior string ensemble attended the regional intermediate and advanced music workshop, known as Imped and Amped. This year we had 16 students involved with Imped and 9 students successfully auditioned for Amped. Of the 30 schools that were represented in our region, Kurwongbah was the 3rd highest represented school this year with 25 attendees across the 4 day event. All students attending the workshops played challenging repertoire and worked closely with guest conductors. The week was a fantastic experience for all our musicians.

What a fantastic turnout for Chappy’s Big Breakfast this morning!

From the time we opened at 7:30 we did not stop cooking and serving, the smiles on the faces said it all.

A huge thanks goes to Club Pine Rivers for their continued generosity in supporting our Big Breakfasts, and the Lions Club Bray Park for their tireless service in cooking and serving.

We extend our thanks also to Shane King MP and Councillor Jim Moloney for coming along to cook, serve and support our great school community.

Most especially, thank YOU Kurwongbah!! We loved seeing you and enjoying breakfast together this morning!!

Kurwongbah competed in the World Robotics RoboRave Tournament on the weekend at the University of the Sunshine Coast. 4000 entrants attended the event from all around the world from China, Taiwan, Canada, India, Mexico, Egypt and Poland to name a few. One Kurwongbah team competed in the A-maze-ing competition on Saturday where students programmed their robot to complete the maze course in the quickest time possible
and, five teams took part on Sunday battling in the Sumo Challenge. Students had worked hard for several months to build and design their program and robot in the lead up to the event and, although none reached the finals, a lot was learnt about design and programming.
Congratulations on such a great effort Kurwongbah teams and a special thank you to parents for your support and time at the event!
