Happy Valentines Day

Several Clients have asked why I chose Heartsease Healing as my new business name. There are several reasons for this.
Firstly the definition of heartsease is peace of mind and tranquility, something I think is a valuable goal for us all to achieve and maintain health in this hectic world. Secondly, the leaves and flowers were traditionally used for strengthening the heart and nerves and to stimulate the metabolism - a Healers dream for Client health. And thirdly, the plant Heartsease is rich in folklore and in both Roman and Greek mythology it is associated with love. Early Christians also say the 3 coloured petals as a symbol of the Holy Trinity. This resonates for me as in my clinic I focus on physical, emotional and energetic attributes of Healing.
Healing from my Heart to yours is what it is all about.

I was the poor kid growing up. My mom used to send me to birthday parties with no present, just so I could eat. I definitely got to a point where I understood and was embarrassed as hell.
In fifth grade, my friend’s mom invited me to sleep over the night before the actual birthday party. When her daughter was in the shower, the mom laid out the toys that she had bought her daughter for her birthday. She let me pick one to wrap and put my name on.
I’m 37 now. I am still grateful to that mom. That one act made such an impact on me.
Always be kind. 🙏
If you see someone falling behind, walk beside them. If someone is being ignored, find a way to include them. If someone has been knocked down, lift them up. Always remind people of their worth. Be who you needed when you were going through hard times.
Just one small act of kindness could mean the world to someone.

Most of you know, we had a pretty hectic storm rip through Port late yesterday afternoon. As I was getting ready to leave this morning, I was trying to map out my drive to work as we’ve been asked to stay out of the main area where they are trying to clean up, understandably so. Theres no real way for me to get to work without going through parts where roads were closed yesterday when I was trying to get home. They might be open now but I’m not going out to look because that kinda defeats the purpose. Right? 🖤

Our store is fine as are we, but for the first time in my entire life I cried during a storm yesterday. I did not enjoy being out in that at all and my neighbours were very lucky that I didn’t run in to them screaming to ask them to pat me until it passed. In the past few years we’ve done bushfires, floods, other weird things and now this WTF and I’ll be very happy to never experience a storm like that again please and thank you. 🖤

So this very long winded post is just to let you know that I’m taking a mental health day today and won’t be open. I just simply cannot. Instead I’m going to clean my house, get my hand x-rayed, (don’t ask) kiss my cats, nap, eat nachos and watch Housewives of Miami. Having said that if anyone needs a hand with their clean up, you know I’m completely in. 🖤

This is a throw back to our wood wick herbal coconuts. We still do wood wicks there’s just more of them for a better burn. 🖤

Happy 102nd birthday to Agnes Keleti, the world's oldest living Olympic champion! The Holocaust survivor from Hungary won a total of ten gymnastics medals, including five golds, at the 1952 Helsinki Games and the 1956 Melbourne Games. Keleti survived WWII thanks to working as a maid under a false identity but many of her family members were among the 550,000 Hungarian Jews killed during the Holocaust. Following the war, she was able to return to gymnastics training and won her Olympic medals at the ages of 31 and 35. Today, the energetic centenarian still prefers to look forward, asserting: "The past? Let’s talk about the future. That’s what should be beautiful. The past is past but there is still a future."

I believe I am a genuinely kind and considerate person. That is not to say I've never been thoughtless or oblivious. I also try to give people the benefit of the doubt and 2nd, 3rd and even 4th chances. I hope when I stuff up they would do the same.
However I have come to the firm conclusion that disconnecting from toxic and disrespectful people is self care.
