What a great Term 1 it's been in the employment/training group! We've set some really solid foundations around skills, values, goals, communication, confidence, priorities and much more. Some of the guys have completed their tailored workplace readiness module which is a fantastic addition to any resume. This week is a final week before we have a break and then make into things on May 1st! Can't wait to see some of the guys start moving into their chosen industry sectors!

Brightside has been honoured to have helped Brandon on his amazing journey! We assisted with his Personal Training qual at TAFE, then went on to employ Brandon as a personal trainer for the past few years. Brandon is now pursuing his pilot’s career in central NSW & we wish him all the very best in his future endeavours! Go Brandon!!

Happy Thursday! just a little update - as you know, we started the school leaver group last week. We've been learning ways to utilise your unique strengths and how to grow in your unique ways of communication. Tomorrow we are learning how to plan and prepare for future goals (sporting, study, work, etc). It's a tailored short course, written by me & will cover units of training found in recognised government training.

Introducing Will! Available Now, Individual Support Worker Fitness, Walking/outdoor, Physical Activity, General Support, Transportation assistance, Peer Support, Tailored support. Will is a professional rock climber/rock-climbing instructor. He has completed some broader individual support studies and fitness studies and will be completing his Mental Health studies later this year. Will has been awarded the ADF future innovation award and the AMPOL all round award recognising community service, leadership, and sporting achievements. Will is involved in volunteer youth work and has shared at Luminosity. Will is super passionate about seeing individuals achieve their goals and is committed to providing caring, person centred support to participants. Will holds relevant insurance and has current first aid training. Will also has a current WWCC. If you know of any participants that require caring, professional, tailored support, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
