Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway is excited to welcome back Menz Trading & Hire as the major naming rights sponsor of the fourth annual running of Thunder on the Downs.

The ‘Menz Trading & Hire’ Thunder on the Downs will be held on 27 & 28 September (Friday & Saturday night), with Friday & Saturday nights both being individual $10,000 to win shows. Each nights A-Mains will each pay out $30,000 in prize money.

That’s a staggering $60,000 to be paid out during both the main events alone, as well as all the B & C Main money and the following contingency awards each night:
- Coast Vending Quick Time $250
- Cush Clothing A Dash Winner $250
- SEDL Earthmoving Hard Charger $250
- CPV Fastest Lap in A Main $250

The following Saturday (5 October), Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway will then host the opening round of the Queensland Speedway Spares Ultimate Sprintcar Championship. Like every round of USC, the feature pays $5,000 to win and a guaranteed $500 start money in the A-Main.

Bill Mann & the team at Performance Wholesale and QSS are saddened by the passing away of one of our valued team members Julian Creighton last week while on holidays overseas due to unforeseen health complications.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his partner Ann Marie Bradley, Julian's Boys, Angus and Stuart and all the associated family members, relatives and friends.

Julian has been around the industry for a long time on and after a time away from our group he returned in 2017 to help the company that gave him his start in his working career. He was originally employed by Bill after turning up to Bill Mann Performance in Moss Street in 1980 after seeing an advertisement in the local paper for a salesman position.

Julian rocked in the door and said “ Have you still got a position vacant"? to which Bill answered “Yes I do”, Julian then said “Not anymore you don’t, where do I put my stuff” so he was shown his desk and the phone and the rest is history.

You will be sadly missed by all the team at PWA & QSS.
