Essential Oil Spotlight on: BERGAMOT MINT

Bergamot Mint, also known as Water Mint or Orange Mint, has a fresh, citrusy-minty aroma that is both refreshing and relaxing. Similar to Lavender, Bergamot Mint’s major constituents linalool and linalyl acetate have shown in studies to help manage restlessness and stress.

It is perfect for diffusing before stressful events like thunderstorms or fireworks, and also clears the air of unpleasant odors... like wet-dog, and can even be used as an effective surface cleaner! There is NO photosensitivity with this oil since it is a Mint oil, and while we don't often use it with animals, it can be used safely diluted topically or diffused around all species.

It soothes upset stomachs or gassy pets, helps aid in wound healing, helps with horses or dogs in heat, and is very helpful during increased stress in the home or around the farm. It may help with focus during training and can be uplifting, yet calming to the mood which can help behavior associated with feeling down or confused.

It is emotionally balancing, comforting and soothing and helps when feeling discouraged or down, especially when associated with neglect or disappointment. It may help new pets feel welcome in their new home.

Using Bergamot Mint with Animals:

For horses, cattle, and goats - apply topically by dropping 4-6 drops along the spine from tail to head, over the poll for increased energy and stamina, over the chest for emotional support, or directly to an area of concern such as over a scrape or bump, or even over the belly for digestive support.

For dogs - Dilute to 0.5 - 2% (1-4 drops per 10 mL carrier oil) and apply a small amount to your hands apply to the area of concern. You can also diffuse for emotional support benefits and to clean the air. Makes a wonderful doggy-cologne that is also calming!

For cats - Water diffusion is preferred, provided the door is open so the cat may leave the room if they wish.
