WOMEN EMPOWERMENT πππ»π
Beautiful message from ππSince travelling around I have been training in so many different gyms.
As soon as I walked into TGS I felt instantly comfortable.
I hadnβt trained properly in 6 weeks & everything I wanted for focusing on my strength training goals were there.
I also love the sense of community there. Everyone supports each other, is friendly & itβs non judgmental.
Everything a gym should be & moreπ
Connie, Hayley & the girls are always so accommodating & happy to help with anything.
Another AMAZING transformation we have seen from ππ»ππ»π€©
We absolutely LOVE LOVE seeing all these results ladies!! Keep sending them in to us π₯³π
A question we often get askedπ
ππΌπ·
Our answer?
Training on a hangover is not something weβd recommend, and in fact, is actually counter productive for your goals.
Hereβs why:
πΈ Did you know the reason youβre so hungry after drinking is due to the fact that alcohol sends your blood sugar levels all over the place (sugary drinks/cocktails are the worst for this!) and then leaves you crashing a few hours later and reaching for that takeaway, midnight feast (dominoes anyone?!) or greasy breakfast the next day. This will affect energy levels, protein synthesis (muscle growth) and recovery when you train.
π· Alcohol is a diuretic, meaning it can cause dehydration during training and electrolyte imbalances - a sure way to cause a greater risk of muscle strains, injury, and cramping.
πΊ Your body's first priority after drinking is to remove all the alcohol and toxins from your body, meaning your normal fat burning (metabolic process) is slowed down.
This means when you train after drinking, your body's normal process of utilising calories in the correct way/to replenish, build and repair, is greatly affected.
πΎ Alcohol affects both sleep and the chemical in your body HGH (Human Growth Hormone). So aswell as your energy being affected, muscle recovery & growth are also affected.
So, π― go out and enjoy some drinks this weekend, but do consider whether training the next day is a good idea. We like to schedule in a rest day post drinking instead!
Happy Birthday We all hope you had an amazing day π₯³π
