We out here making ugly damage look… less ugly! Yes, it’s not perfect, but when it comes to repairing more budget instruments, it’s best to not blow the budget! Instead of completely re-veneering the whole headstock, we opted for a patch repair and some tinted lacquer to hide the evidence. An economical solution doesn’t have to be an eyesore! 👀

If you’ve got some cosmetic damage on your guitar, don’t hesitate to get in touch today ☎️🎸

Improvisation vs ingenuity in this little number … we think ingenuity wins this time around!

After our customer’s pickguard broke from years of use (and inherent weakness on the ol’ P Bass design, thanks Leo), he went ahead and carved up a nice solution, but was ultimately unsatisfied with the result.

Because of the obscure design of the pickguard, we opted to graft in a new section rather than cut an entirely new guard - a job that would be extremely uneconomical without a CNC machine. Plus, we think character and history is important when it comes to instrument!

Hand carved from a larger piece of pickguard and with a nice new wiring harness to boot, this sweet old Japanese bass has a new lease on life!

Now those are some flat frets! Talk about a well played guitar, this late 60s Gibson SG came to us with just about the flattest frets you could imagine (first 3 photos).

The customer said he was having trouble with intonation and figured it was time to do something about it. We’d say well overdue! After a small amount of board prep and some nice tall frets installed, this bad boy was back to pitch perfect intonation in no time (last 3 photos).

Get in touch today for a quote on some fretwork, overdue or not we don’t mind! 🛠️

An absolute pleasure to be entrusted with ’s D-28 for a binding repair and some small touch ups to the setup before he hit the . The pros bring their guitars here; so should you!

There is a certain creative license that comes with the job title of guitar repairer and there are many instances where steering into that creativity leads to a better repair and a far more rewarding overall experience.
wanted me to build a Telecaster for him and mentioned that he didn’t like the finish on the neck and the bridge was too sharp and jagged.
I’ve never removed finish from a guitar neck and I’ve also never modified a Tele bridge, so I went ahead and got creative with it. The result was a neck that feels like it’s been played for decades, a postmodern I-accidentally-designed-a-new-bridge bridge, and an overall epic, fully custom Tele!

This beautiful came in for a spruce up including some finish, electronics and action work to get it ready for the 76 year old owner to play some classics on and fall back in love with his instrument.

As always it was humbling to see his reaction when we took it from no sound and rattling strings to a beautiful, functional and comfortable instrument ready for another few decades of service.

No relicing here. Just 50 years of genuine blood, sweat and tears eating away at nitrocellulose lacquer. One of the nicest, heaviest, gnarliest sounding Strats I’ve ever had the pleasure of working on. 1978 was a good year!

Reuben from dropped in a couple of well used studio tools suffering from the dreaded crackles. Safe to say we got them buzz free so he can keep cooking up bangers in his footy shorts 🦆🥢

Something about removing every inch of filth, gaffa tape and grime off a punk band’s main axe is deeply satisfying. Dan from brought his acrylic Barclay Jag in for this very treatment and it came up a treat before a heavy workout at on Saturday night.

Idea ➡️ Sketch/Design ➡️ Craft & Implement

wanted a big fat humbucker in his vintage Greco. It needed a new pickguard so he gave me creative freedom, which I always love on a job like this. I decided on a free flowing guard loosely inspired by my ‘67 SG with its ‘batwing’ guard.

I don’t pretend to be a master craftsman or luthier (yet), but I pride myself on perfect details and intricacies. I crafted the pickguard almost entirely with hand tools and it took many hours as I don’t have the expensive and large equipment needed to machine something like this. Nonetheless it serves a functional purpose by accomodating the pickup mounting and it does so whilst looking unique and beautiful, a complement to the instrument.

Aaron from brought his very shiny signature Strat in for a custom tuning balance and some nut work to make this bad boy shred worthy. They’ve got new music out that will make your ears bleed in the best way possible. Get around it!

Mastersound in for a bridge setup, neck angle adjustment and some electronic work.

This design dates all the way back to 1958 and was brainchild of Maton’s founder Bill May. Vintage Maton electrics and basses always have such creative and original design elements without the sole purpose being practicality, but this makes them extremely unique.

Matsumoku-made Fantom Swinging Bass that we refinished in a classic Fender style shoreline gold.
Swipe to see the horrendous life this bass was living before we rejuvenated it! Starting off in a flat black finish, I got the idea for shoreline gold with a matching gold guard when I noticed the original pickguard (and electronics) were horrendously over sprayed with thick gold paint.
Gap filled all the cracks in the body, level sanded, primed and sprayed in good old fashioned 2PAC automotive paint. A classic vintage look that’s cured in 24 hours. New guard, wiring loom whilst retaining the original 70s Alnico pickup. A full setup and she was ready to rock. Over at soon!

If you can dream it up, I can wire it! This customer came to me with a very (VERY) specific set of controls that he wanted for his Strat - 4 concentric pots, two mini toggles and a 5 way switch. To say this is a Super Strat is a big understatement. Let’s see who can guess the controls!

Teles for days. This beautifully relic’s Thinline came in for a full setup and some nut filing action before she goes up for sale.
