probably one of the most underrated ramen in Sydney!
rich, robust, spirit lifting ramen!
you get a lovely richness from the tonkotsu base, super well balanced, rich but not too heavy!

the Tantanmen came with a creamy peanut sesame which brought the tonkotsu to a whole nother level, whilst the Sh**un Red brought a unique smoky black garlic flavour! both bowls are ones to experience!

would i come back? yehh boi!!

I saw this special advertised and had to try it! It was very different to what I’d normally get but I loved it. All the toppings were delicious and she is a bit spicy but I kept eating it. Warning though, it is a big serving so make sure you are hungry!

I also got their frozen Karai and Tan tanmen and can’t wait to try it at home!

SPOTLIGHT: Ramen Sh**un opened in July 2022. It is known for its tonkotsu based ramen, which combines the flavours of rich pork bone broth and chicken. The spicy ramen dishes are particularly addictive. The head chef, Jun, worked at various Japanese restaurants and developed a passion for ramen. This led him to open his own ramen shop. His goal is to create a ramen that everyone will love, and he continues to research and experiment in order to make even more delicious ramen. Open 6 days a week for lunch and dinner (shut Sundays)

아, 글구 이건 그냥 한국분들에게만 드리는 꿀팁? 같은건데요. 저희 라멘 드시고 면 추가보다 밥공기 추가하셔서 말아서 드시면 완전 존맛탱 그릇까지 드실지도 몰라요😌 (좀 이상하게 들리실지도 모르지만 라멘도 먹고 국밥도 먹는 그런 느낌이랍니다. 의외로 존맛이에요.)

**un_ultimo is open near the fish markets. $16.50 for a bowl of tonkotu. The chashu is yum and egg is perfect. Bouncy noodles! 10/10
Gyoza good too but was served slightly colder than I'd have liked.

Cute hole in the wall type shop. Visit if you want a yummy bowl of ramen!

Next time we'll try the Japanese curry and sushi.

Did you know that being obsessed with ramen is a sign of intelligence and grace? New monger in ultimo cooks their pork broth for 48 hours and is very delicious. Worth the journey out to the depths of ultimo.
