Since 1969, Marian Street Theatre for Young People (MSTYP) has empowered youth through drama and performance. As a not-for-profit community organisation, we’re guided by a passionate volunteer Committee dedicated to our Drama School and Children’s Theatre.

We're seeking new members for 2025! If you have skills in the arts industry, government, fundraising, grant-writing, law, or marketing, we want to hear from you!

"I have been a part of the theatre world since the age of 9. It is such a joy to be a part of the industry and it has helped me grow into the person I am today. I have had the honour to be in many productions as an actor and director. I have been tutoring for 5 years and have had the privilege of working with many talented students. I get immense joy watching the students in my classes grow and blossom into the talented, passionate, kind people that they are and am inspired by these amazing individuals. I recently graduated from Screenwise (film and tv school for actors) and loved getting to embrace other aspects of performance. At the moment I am studying film at Macquarie University and loving every second of it! I am so excited to be part of the MSTYP community!"

MEET KAI:
Hi, im Kai and im playing the roll of Jamie in ‘Shack’. I love acting and hope to pursue it as a career one day. I love every single person in the cast and I look forward to every rehearsal. I hope to share with everyone the happiness ‘Shack’ has brought me.

MEET EMMELINE:
I am Emmeline Zakon and I play the role of Rufus. I have been practising drama for many years and I love performing. I have been with Marian St Theatre for three years and been in two previous performances with them. I am so excited to perform this play and have loved meeting all the other actors in the play.
