My background is in Hospitality management where my love for food, wine and good customer service comes from. A few years ago I had a severe accident which caused me to go through an extensive rehab where i did not feel safe nor confident in my body and its abilities. Going through that process i realized how hard it is to find a gym that offers easy workouts, a lot of support, great customer service and results. That is the reason we created SHAiPE. Butterfly - Another great way to work out your chest is our butterfly machine. When you work out on this machine, try to watch out for these things:
(1) - keep your shoulders back and try not to move them too much, try not to hunch over
(3) - hold the handles in a comfortable position so your forearms are horizontal
(4) - keep your elbows down

Chest Press - we might have technological machines but you still have to do the exercise (😉) and when you do, try to watch out for these things:
(1) - keep your elbows down to really lift the weight with your chest
(2) - keep your shoulders back and try not to move them

Motivation & momentum can play a huge part in achieving your goals. Which is why its best to split your end goal into mini achievable goals so that you can see your progress as you complete each step on the way to your end goal
⭐️ Have your meals planned out in advance
Without a good nutrition plan, your fitness goals are likely to fail. The food and drink we consume can play up to 80% towards our fitness goals which is why it’s near impossible to out-train a bad diet. Speak to one of your trainers if you have any questions about what you should be consuming to reach your fitness goals
⭐️ Keep showing up!
Consistency is key! Once you have the above things sorted and you are executing them daily, you will start to see your progress.
Remember, preparation is key to success!

As we start the process of the famous resolution ‘New Year, New Me’ - We wanted to pass on some helpful information to make your goals attainable and sustainable heading into 2023!
If you're solely focused on lifting heavier or trust the scale no matter what - listen up.
Numbers, whether it's the scale or what you're lifting, are an important metric. Observe them over time, and yes you can measure progress. But numbers alone don't represent your success.
If your goal is fat loss, you've got to remember - there's a difference between weight and fat loss. And our weight fluctuates daily. Just because you're not seeing a drop in weight, doesn't mean you're not
losing fat.
And if you're looking to lift heavier, the general consensus is to gradually increase load by 10% at a time. So let's be real, some weeks you just won't move heavier weights.
Here at SHAiPE, we want to focus on the journey, not the destination.
That is why we offer our Habit Building program to all our members. We want to give you the knowledge and tools to build a healthy and successful lifestyle.

There is no easy way about it, dieting can be hard!
Especially over the holidays!
You might be feeling a little apprehensive about managing the Christmas period and not ruining your progress.
Firstly, it’s important to note that your body doesn’t reset every day, so long as you are within your target for the week then you will be able to hit your goals.
This means, that we have room to play with your food intake each day. If your target is 1800 cals per day, for example, then we can shift things about.
We can have some lower days before hand, allowing for much higher intake days.
Meaning you can have meals out, drinks or an extra mince pie without it taking you over your limits.
This is known as calorie banking! Banking is a fantastic way of allowing you the flexibility to enjoy the festive seasons.
It’s what we’ll be doing to keep ourselves on track!
