The Origins of the Bonfire: A Vietnamese Cooking Adventure

Mr. Tinh Tran, the original head chef at Bay Tinh, had always been fascinated by the flavors and traditions of Vietnamese cuisine. So when he had the opportunity to take a trip to the beautiful city of Da Lat, he jumped at the chance.
It was during this trip that Mr. Tinh Tran had a truly transformative experience. Wild camping in the pine forests of the Central Highlands, which spread out in all directions over the mountains around Da Lat, he was able to witness firsthand the art of cooking over an open campfire.

As Mr. Tinh Tran sat around the campfire, he couldn't help but be inspired by the experience. The crackling of the fire, the warmth in the chill of the night, and the aroma of the food cooking over the flames all combined to create a truly magical atmosphere.

It was then that Mr. Tran had an idea. He would bring the essence of this wild, rustic cooking back to his restaurant, Bay Tinh, and create a dish that would capture the excitement and flavor of the campfire.

And so, he set to work, experimenting with different ingredients and techniques to come up with the perfect recipe. After many long hours in the kitchen, he finally hit upon the perfect combination: succulent pieces of meat or prawn cooked at your table, infused with bold, aromatic herbs, vegetables, the anchovy sauce, and wrapped in rice paper for a satisfying and flavorful meal.

The result was the Bonfire, a dish that quickly became the talk of the town. Customers from all over came to Bay Tinh just to try this one-of-a-kind creation, and it quickly became one of the most popular item on the menu.

Today, the Bonfire is still a beloved favorite at Bay Tinh, drawing in crowds of loyal fans who can't get enough of its mouthwatering flavor and satisfying goodness. If you haven't tried it yet, you're in for a real treat!

There will be certain restrictions placed on us when we reopen.
All of our staff have been fully vaccinated and we are only allowed to host clients who have been fully vaccinated. There will be a distance required between guests and thus there will be limited seating. So please make a booking as soon as possible to enable us arrange sitting times. Please help by being flexible to support us through this time of restricted trading.
