BOOK OF THE WEEK: 'Where The Crawdads Sing' by Delia Owens
'Where The Crawdads Sing' is now a major motion picture — The #1 New York Times bestselling worldwide sensation with more than 18 million copies sold, hailed by The New York Times Book Review as “a painfully beautiful first novel that is at once a murder mystery, a coming-of-age narrative and a celebration of nature.
Where the Crawdads Sing is at once an exquisite ode to the natural world, a heartbreaking coming-of-age story, and a surprising tale of possible murder. Owens reminds us that we are forever shaped by the children we once were, and that we are all subject to the beautiful and violent secrets that nature keeps. (Credit: Fantastic Fiction)
BOOK OF THE WEEK: 'The Road' by Cormac McCarthy
'The Road' is the profoundly moving story of a journey. It boldly imagines a future in which no hope remains, but in which the father and his son, “each the other's world entire,” are sustained by love. Awesome in the totality of its vision, it is an unflinching meditation on the worst and the best that we are capable of. (Credit: Fantastic Fiction)

For many years now, Penrith has turned pink in the month of October to support the important work of the McGrath Foundation
The whole community gets behind this initiative.
To cap things off this year, Paddle Australia and Fox&Co have joined up to turn our iconic Nepean River pink, with local canoeists out in force on the water.
I’m so proud to call this part of Western Sydney home and to see our community rally behind those dealing with breast cancer.
A special thank you to Penrith CBD Corporation, Penrith RSL and the Pink Up Penrith team.
We are pleased to be supporting the ‘Pink Up Penrith’ campaign once again in aid of the McGrath Foundation by donating fifty cents from each book sold in store during the month of October. Customers are invited to deposit any loose change in the money box displayed at the counter.
