One day to go …
Dear Friends,
Firstly, I wanted to say a big thankyou for supporting, encouraging and believing in the work we do at Kingsway Care. Over this past financial year we have loved, supported and given fresh hope to many families which we couldn't have done without you. So from me, a big THANKYOU and we deeply appreciate all you have done. If you are keen to see our impact in terms of actual numbers please check out the images.
With only a few days to go before the end of the financial year, I wanted to give you an update on our impact and stories, but also give you an opportunity to make a final tax deductible gift before the end of the financial year. We are currently 35k under budget so it would be extremely empowering for us if we could make our budget and start the new season on the front foot. We need your help to do this.
So if you can make a donation in the next day or so that would be great. Feel free to call me if you want or need more information. My door is always open and I’d be happy to even meet for a coffee if you're keen 🙂.
Thanks again for your ongoing support
Sincerely
Brook

We are so lucky at Jac to be able to have so many quality people stand with us in doing something about Youth Homelessness!
Just another collection of mems from the Run 2 Restore 2023
Like we said, lock in the date for next year. 25th May 2024.
If you want any of these photos, get in touch and I’ll send them to you.

Apart from housing young women from this event, our favourite is the smiles, laughs, hugs, and bringing together of the broader Jac family (all of you).
For some who came to the Run 2 Restore, they see each other all the time. For others, this is an annual rhythm that is a part of their year where they deliberately sacrificially give to the community, see people they haven’t seen since the last one, centre themselves in what is important to them with a walk or a run (or an UNRun).
If you’re one of the people who has this as their annual rhythm - thank you. It’s ALWAYS good to come together. If you’re coming for the first time, or for our regulars, I want to encourage you to invite someone new along next time. You can already save the date - it’s always the last Saturday in May. I look forward to seeing you and some new faces there next year.

Who would have thought that spending a morning with friends in the National part having a walk that is good for your body mind and soul could be a world changer for someone.
These fundraisers and events are important to let everyone know the issues out there in our community that are not in their face every day. We do that so we can put opportunities in their hands (and feet) to help do something about it.
I’m glad helping the homeless while it can be heartbreaking, hard work, difficult, and sacrificial, it can also be fun.
Thanks for joining the fun

Run run run run…..ok how did we do?
You did GREAT lads!! Supporting young homeless women and sending the message that they’re worth all the run around - that’s GREAT!

Some of my favourite pics are the READY….SET ….GO!! Pics.
All of the work and preparation is done. Nothing more can be done now, all that’s left is trusting the process, trusting the work you’ve done is enough, trusting that you’re meant to be here doing this very thing and now, leaning in and having fun with it!
We hope that you have many more of these moments this month. Where you can have an awareness around the start of something as something you’ve been preparing for and lean into the work that’s been done in your life to get you here.
Big thanks to all those who made it to the starting line of the

Before everyone arrived at the park, while it was still very cold and a very blank canvas, these guys showed up and helped put on a great event last Saturday. Some of them, while it was still dark.
Here are some of the volunteers from the Run to Restore last week.
Leave a comment to thank them with me!

I got up early for this vid gang. This is early morning Chrissy musings.
Did you wake up this morning and want to snuggle in the warm for a bit longer? All in the confidence of knowing you’re home? Me too. Don’t take that for granted. It’s actually quite special and not everyone has that.
The Run to Restore is about doing SOMETHING about it for folks who don’t have that. Folks coming from domestic violence, neglect, abuse, and more.
Your $55 rego fee won’t cure and fix homelessness. But it WILL do something. It’s on THIS SATURDAY (27th May). You can register at www.jacaranda.org.au.
And get this, even though we would prefer to see you IRL, You don’t even have to show up to do something. You can register for the UNRun and stay in your PJs. Can’t wait to see/“see” you!
If you’ve registered for the Run to Restore on the 27th May the next fun thing you can do is set up a situation where people can sponsor you to run, walk or UNRun.

2022 Christmas APPEAL .
It’s not OK .. to be unsafe , abused and afraid . Family and Domestic Violence is not OK We have seen too many stories like Mary’s :
“For many years I was in a relationship with a person who was dominating and controlling. I felt crushed by this and was unable to sleep peacefully, not knowing if I would wake to more abuse. But since leaving this relationship I can sleep safely and peacefully. This brings me joy. Although I had no money and a young child when I left my relationship, it is a relief to live freely and without judgement. I can be whatever I want to be and that brings me joy!”
Your gift helps us provide a safe place with safe people for women like Mary .
40 Women have died this year due to family and domestic Violence.
This is NOT OK!
Accommodation like ours is critical in saving lives and creating pathways to safety and a new life.
This Christmas as you join and celebrate the season with loved ones, for many Christmas will be very different. Help us bring the joy of Christmas by giving safety and hope to a family escaping violence!

This amazing woman hit a milestone birthday over the weekend 🥳 she has carried the heart of Jacaranda for the past 14 years and given so much love to others. She has poured her heart and soul into not because she has to, but because she sees people and notices their strengths and their quirks and shows grace around flaws.
The Jac fam is so big because she has made the Jac pad a safe place to come back to whenever you need. So many young women have launched from Jac with the skills and confidence to thrive in the world thanks to this wonderful human. So many lessons have been learned under the wisdom of this beautiful soul.
We celebrate and we honour her for who she is and we send so much love to her on her 40th birthday. We hope she is enjoying her long service leave break 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
