What better way to celebrate your birthday than with a cake at sunrise at the top of Mount Sonder in the beautiful outback in the Northern Territory?!

Last month, Rachel celebrated alongside 10 fellow Big Brothers Big Sisters supporters during the Larapinta trek, which raised over $30,000 for mentorship programs for young people.

Happy belated birthday, Rachel! 🎉🎂

You know what sounds better than another day spent in the office? Trekking in the gorgeous Scenic Rim in Queensland with your workmates to raise money for The Indigenous Literacy Foundation!

That's exactly what this selected group of DUAL Australia employees did earlier this month, raising an amazing $34,000 in just a couple of months!

If your organisation is looking for an engaging and meaningful team bonding experience CSR initiative, send us a message to find out more.

We're celebrating over $2 million raised from our 2024 departures! 🎉 That figure represents the hard work of passionate charity supporters to make a difference. Those funds (and over $46 million more!) goes directly towards funding vital medical research, working towards equal educational opportunities for all, saving the environment, helping people into stable housing, and much more. It's a mammoth effort, and one we are so proud to play a part in.

The smiles you can't help but give when you've reached the top of your third mountain of the day!

This team of Mark Hughes Foundation supporters have so much to be proud of - climbing three peaks in a single day, and fundraising over $100,000 for brain cancer patient support and research! 👏👏

There's nothing more rewarding for our team than positive feedback at the completion of our adventures. Like this wonderful testimonial, from Ian who trekked the Larapinta Trail with Doctors for the Environment.

"I came to this with high expectations and they were all exceeded. The professionalism, commitment, good humour and wide knowledge of our guides could not be praised highly enough. The beauty of the country we trekked through was moving, I will treasure the memories of this trip for the rest of my time."

The beauty of the Australian outback is unmatched. Just look at those glowing reds❤️‍🔥

Meet Sandra and Tony (pictured on the left, alongside Kiralee and Mark Hughes), long-time Mark Hughes Foundation supporters. Ahead of their upcoming Larapinta trek with MHF, Sandra and Tony held an incredible Race Day Fundraising Event, which raised $40,000 for brain cancer research and patient support! 👏

Meet Fedie, and his late brother Joseph, who passed away from brain cancer in 2022. Fedie will be trekking Queensland's Scenic Rim alongside a team of Mark Hughes Foundation supporters in September. Fedie shared that his brother "was a beautiful soul and easily the strongest person I’ve ever met", and his diagnosis at age 21 came as a shock to the family.

On why he decided to join the MHF adventure, he said “When someone you love has brain cancer it’s the most helpless feeling, so I felt the need to help in a tangible way. The mission of MHF resonated strongly with me, and Joseph loved his NRL, so this felt like the perfect way to honour him”.

To date, Fedie has raised $8,300 of his $10,000 goal for brain cancer research. He credits the support of his customers at Little Gossip Cafe in Everton Hills QLD for being so generous towards the cause. We are sure that Joseph's spirit will be with Fedi every step of the way as he treks in September.

Today kicks off National Reconciliation Week.

This year, the theme is Now More Than Ever, a reminder to all of us that no matter what, the fight for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will —and must —continue. We all play a part.

Earlier this year, we began our journey to creating a Reconciliation Action Plan, and we are looking forward to reflecting our core values by putting this in place. In the meantime, the work continues. In treaty making, in truth-telling, in understanding our history, in education, and in tackling racism.

We need connection. We need respect. We need action. And we need change.

The mission of Vision Australia is to support people who are blind or have low vision to live the life they choose - and sometimes that life looks like trekking in Aotearoa New Zealand with a group of like-minded Vision Australia supporters!

Our goal with this adventure was to ensure that visually impaired participants were able to join, and we were so proud to see this team depart in March with four visually impaired and legally blind team members. The team had a fantastic time on the Queen Charlotte Track and raised an incredible $74,000!

You never know who you'll meet hiking in Tassie! 💖

Meet Josh and Tahlia, two of our amazing Inspired Adventures guides. Last month, they led a team of Berry Street supporters on a multi-day trek in Tasmania's stunning Cradle Mountain National Park.

Josh told us, "I thoroughly enjoyed spending the week with such a great group of people and I was so impressed with their fundraising efforts. I'm really looking forward to guiding more meaningful trips with Inspired Adventures."

If you're lucky, maybe Josh and Tahlia will guide your next adventure!

Getting to join one of our adventures is one of the best perks of being on Team Inspired! Like Lucy, our Senior Fundraising Coordinator, who earlier this year got to trek alongside OzHarvest supporters (including its Founder, Ronni Kahn!) in the stunning Southern Alps of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Check out the latest blog on our website to read all about her life-changing experience.

Meet Stacee (), who last month embarked on her third trekking adventure to raise funds for Ovarian Cancer Australia.

Stacee writes, "After enduring 2 years of surgeries, chemotherapy and confusion I took a keen interest in educating others and learning the little information there was on this deadly disease."

Stacee raised over $5,700, contributing to the $50,000 raised by the team to help researchers better test for, treat and one day, cure ovarian cancer.

16/04/2024

We reached another exciting milestone over the weekend - $48 million raised for charities through our adventures! With 8,376 participants (and counting!), this comes out to an average of $5,730 raised per person, a figure we are incredibly proud of.

Our participants come from all walks of life, but their passion for making a difference is what brings them together. And what a difference they have made!

10/04/2024

There's nothing quite like the joy of spending time in nature with good company and the sun shining on your back...except maybe knowing you're also fundraising for charity along the way!

23 women, 96 gruelling kilometres through dense, muddy mountainous terrain, and over $400,000 raised for brain cancer research and patient support ❤ hMark Hughes Foundation's Kokoda Ladies Trek was a resounding success, and the impact will be felt far and wide.

26/03/2024

What could be better than witnessing the breathtaking beauty of Aotearoa New Zealand's Southern Alps? Not much - except maybe knowing that you're part of a team that has raised over $70,000 to help OzHarvest reduce food waste and feed those in need.

Meet Ashlee, and her mum Trudy. This photo was taken just a few months before Trudy passed away from Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. In May 2024, Ashlee and her brother Matthew will be taking on a Three Peaks challenge in Kosciuszko National Park along with a team of dedicated Mark Hughes Foundation supporters.

Ashlee said, "We’d love your support to help raise some cash to continue to fund the amazing nurses [from Mark Hughes Foundation] and maybe one day, get the breakthrough that tells us why or how this happens. More importantly, how to increase survival rates so that a diagnosis doesn’t automatically mean a death sentence". Together, she and Matthew have raised over $10,000 to date.

"Adventure is 90% having the time of your life and 10% wishing you weren’t there 🤙🏽", says Stroke Foundation participant Priya after completing the climb to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko for sunrise last month. A stroke survivor herself in 2015 at age 24, Priya set out to raise awareness that stroke can impact anyone, at any age.

Aotearoa New Zealand's Southern Alps are just breathtaking! Just a couple of weeks ago, this team of Black Dog Institute supporters spent six days trekking and exploring the region, raising $82,000 for mental health research along the way. Two life-changing experiences in one!

Meet Simone, one of our dedicated fundraisers registered for National Breast Cancer Foundation's 2024 Tuscany Trek Toward Zero Deaths. Simone was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013 and the Tuscany Trek will be her third trek with NBCF, following Mt Kilimanjaro in 2024 and the Great Wall of China in 2016.

Simone told us, "These adventures are a wonderful way to meet like-minded people, make lifelong friends and help heal or ease wounds by swapping stories and honouring loved ones along the way. Words can’t describe the mental strength and positive energy this experience brought me. The amazing people and friendships made are just a wonderful bonus on top of the sensational experiences."

Join one of NBCF's upcoming adventures to Tuscany, Ireland, Tasmania, or NSW's Snowy Mountains for your own life-changing experience: https://inspiredadventures.com.au/nbcf-trek-towards-zero-deaths-adventures/

January 26 is a day of mourning for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islands. It marks the arrival of colonialisation and the beginning of a period of significant death, disempowerment and loss of culture. While there has been a long-standing public debate about whether to change the date, we think it's time to .

That's why we've given our staff the choice to work today and take an alternative day off in the coming weeks. Some might say this is unpatriotic, but nothing could be further from the truth. A true Australia Day - one that unites every Australian to celebrate this incredible country - shouldn't leave out our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander brothers and sisters grieving.

There are certainly bigger issues facing the First Nation's Peoples, and switching a day off isn't going to fix those, but recognising our history is an important step towards meaningful reconciliation.
