Anti-Discrimination NSW

We work to eliminate discrimination by answering enquiries, conciliating complaints and more. Our services are free.

We are the NSW state government body that administers the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977. We strive to eliminate discrimination in New South Wales by answering enquiries, reconciling complaints, raising awareness about discrimination and its impacts, managing applications for exemptions from the Act, and advising the government about discrimination issues. If you have experienced discrimination in NSW, you can lodge a complaint with us.

Today is day, and ADNSW staff are wearing purple to show our support for rainbow young people. Everyone has the right to feel safe, supported and empowered, and to be proud of who they are.

It's unlawful in NSW to treat someone less favourably because of their homos*xuality or transgender status. It’s also against the law to vilify a person or group because they are homos*xual or transgender.
