Ebenezer Mission - NDIS, Welfare, Music and Duke of Ed

Last Wednesday, I resumed volunteer activities at a nursing home for the first time since COVID-19. It was difficult to restart, but I’m so happy to achieve this year’s goal of having individuals with disabilities give back to the country through their talents, especially by volunteering with music and participating in Clean-Up Day. I look forward to continuing more volunteering and sharing!

Every Thursday is cooking day! Today, for our vacation special, we had a barbecue in the park. Korean barbecue is always a big hit!

This week is dedicated to celebrating and commemorating Australia‘s rich cultural, musical, and artistic history through the event called NAIDOC Week. Eben friends explored the meanings of traditional symbols and had a fun art session with quizzes!

Every Tuesday, Eben Centre has a special baking class with kitchen safety education. We practice step-by-step according to easy recipes, improve daily living skills, foster teamwork, and make delicious scones and cookies together!

On the first day of winter vacation, Eben friends visited Camlsely Hill City Farm and enjoyed various activities. They had a thrilling time with tractor riding, a sheep shearing show, meeting baby animals, koala talks, and milking cows. They met and experienced Australian farm animals up close. It was a precious day where they made new friends, and learned cooperation and independence skill!
