What a way to celebrate our EOFY dinner at the popular Mr. Wong in Sydney. It was great having our Melbourne team fly up to be with us on the night. The atmosphere and food were phenomenal (despite the leftovers), and the company was even better 😊

Cybersecurity is not just for the big corps; SMEs need to be equally vigilant, as 60% of them go out of business within six months of a data breach (ASIC). A sobering reminder from the recent Cybersecurity Workshop at the University of Technology, Sydney.

Our own Rube Sayed had the privilege of sharing the stage with Colin Renouf, Cyber Security Enterprise Solution Architect at Transport for NSW, and Zlatko Hristov, Founder and MD at ThreatDefence, and Brett Oberstein, UTS’ Director of Business, for an insightful panel discussion on the key cybersecurity challenges in facing businesses today.

A lack of multi-factor authentication, unpatched systems, storing password files in local directories, and excess data storage are some of the key risk factors making businesses vulnerable to multimillion-dollar breaches. We can’t skimp on the security measures — all of us have to stay vigilant out there!

Having a great time at ! Every city brings a new experience, and Melbourne hasn’t disappointed. The speakers were truly inspiring, providing valuable insights into cybersecurity. But it wasn't just about technical knowledge; we were fortunate to have Taryn Brumfit, the 2023 Australian of the Year, share her thoughts on body image in the social media era. She emphasised the importance of “not comparing your behind-the-scenes to other people’s highlight reels” and to never say a bad word about your body.
