There are over 500 SheCamp outdoor group fitness sessions per year all run by me - Susie - founder and owner of SheCamp. I definitely get to know everyone who attends! I've never slept in and missed a session nor have I had a sickie from SheCamp during this time (touch wood, must be the fresh air hahah)...so you can be assured of consistency with your sessions. I am very proud of the fabulous fitness community we've created over the years. We have SheCampers who've been attending for the entire 13 years and also a number who've been attending for over 10 years...plus regular newbies who've been attending for various lengths of time. All ages and fitness levels - mainly 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s through to mid-70s are catered for and exercises modified accordingly and you work at your own pace - so you can go hard or ease into it, whatever your needs.
My background is in social work and mental health so at SheCamp there is a combined focus on the physical, mental health and social elements of exercise.
As part of our 13th Birthday celebrations, I'll be offering one week free trials during March 2023 for anyone new to SheCamp who'd like to come along and give it a go!
Sessions are at Maroubra Beach and Sydney Park, St Peters.

Massive congratulations to my mum Sue for winning GOLD🥇 at the Australian Winter Swimming Championships in Wagga last Sunday for the 75-79 year age group, especially after a super tough year. Legend. I want to be like my mum when I grow up! 🥰❤️💪🏽

'I have lived by the philosophy of respecting my body all my life - it has always been my motivation.
As a very young child, I felt that I had one body and one chance to look after it.
My greatest love was always netball and I played from ages 8 to 55. My childhood memories include my parents driving me to netball courts and athletic carnivals all over Sydney. I still love the game but once I started injuring myself on a regular basis, I realised the time had come to stop playing.
I joined a gym over 20 years ago and have attended almost daily since then. I joined Shecamp in 2010 and this has given me variation in my exercise programme. I entered my first “Fun Run” at age 50 and I have competed in several over the last 15 years.
I am now a 66 year old grandmother of 5. My philosophy on life is still the same - that I have to respect my body - but the motivation now is so that I can be an active and fit grandparent.’

The swell was thumping this morning for our public holiday session. Thankfully we managed to dodge the incoming tide! 😅 Awesome work to my dedicated SheCampers who were still keen to come along and smash out their morning session even on their day off. 😁☀️🏋🏻♀️ 🌊

Life can still be pretty good even when you’re a paralysed rainbow lorikeet! Lori is in the kitchen windowsill helping me meal prep. We’re cooking roast pumpkin soup and also a mixed bean concoction. Happy sunny Saturday!☀️🦜🥰
Early morning rewards. 🥰
This is why I always talk about the ‘feels like’ temperature in winter! Especially in the early morning and evening sessions. I dress based on the ‘feels like’ temp, not the real temp. Example on Monday morning it was 8 degrees with a ‘feels like’ temp of 3.9 degrees! Hence I wore a few layers. 😂 🥶 It works though, follow the ‘feels like’ temp when considering your winter workout attire…and dress like an onion! Be ready to shed some layers as you warm up. 😆👍🏽🕺🏼🌬
