Happy new (financial) year crafty peeps!! 🥳 After the nightmare that was the start of 2024, I really needed to draw a line under it and make a fresh start! I wouldn’t have made it this far without your support and encouragement and for that I am eternally grateful. 😘

As we enter the new year, I’m super excited to get back to classes at the Cottage. We’re starting out with a Travel Marathon this Saturday 6th July from 11am-3pm. I’m baaaaaack!!!! At long last, I’m ready to throw open the doors and get my life back on track. Thank you to everyone for your strength and support over the last 9 weeks. To say it’s been one of my greatest personal and professional struggles ever is an understatement. I’ve been pushed and challenged to the brink recently, but I guess my stubborn streak is even stronger than I realised.

I’ll be back to regular trading hours from 10am tomorrow morning! I’d hoped for a grand reopening, but to curb expectations I think I’ll call it more of a soft opening. 😜 There’s still lots to get finalised, but I’ve missed you all too much to wait any longer. 😘

Thanks again crafty peeps for riding this epic roller coaster with me and if you could avoid any rain dances in the future I’d be very grateful! ☔️

Anyone hear that giant sigh of relief today?? Yep, that was me choosing carpet, settling the dispute over grinding the slab and unpacking our shipment from 49 & Market! Progress right??!! 😜

Another week and another update! Here’s how my day started and ended. Progress right?! At least the mouldy, smelly carpet has done an Elvis and left the building! 🤣

Next is the challenge of the glue on the floor and who is going to do what to fix it…🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m still here, still hanging in and finding strength from all of your love and messages of support. Thanks for hanging in with me and hopefully we’ll be back on track in the next couple of weeks. 🤞🏻

I’m working to load the new 49 & Market collections to the online store before they land next week! I’ll let you know when the preorders go live.

Just wanted to check in and say hello, thank you and we’re still here! Last Monday was a roller coaster ride, but I was so overwhelmed with all the messages of love and support. Sorry I haven’t had a chance to get back to each and every one of you, but please know how much strength you all gave me to get up Tuesday and keep fighting.

The insurance assessor is visiting tomorrow and I’m hopeful for some good news and the chance to get things moving towards a reopening (once the mouldy carpet has been cleared of course!).

Stay tuned for an update as soon I have news! The call for help to get us back up and running will be coming as soon as possible.

Well from the magic of a Disney cruise to the misery of another catastrophic flood….

The store is closed indefinitely, my soul is absolutely broken and I’m going to need some time to sort everything out.

More than half the store is gone, despite the Herculean effort of the customers who were here when the indoor waterfalls began. I can’t even begin to express my gratitude to you all for keeping me upright during the stress of it all.

I will keep you updated as things unfold. I may need some assistance and realise I will need to ask for help if I’m going to get through this, so if you’re willing and able, please keep an eye out for my SOS.

Can anyone tell me how we’ve reached the middle of February already?? 🤷🏻‍♀️

The end of the Disney cruising season has arrived and Mum and I, along with some of my favourite Cottage customers will be setting sail tomorrow for the final Australian sailing. 🛟⚓️

I’m also undergoing some medical testing, so I’ll be back to the store from Saturday 17th at 10am, all being well. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

The plus side of this travelling is a return to a Travel Marathon class on the first Saturday of every month, starting from March. More details will follow soon and we will open the bookings when we are back on dry land! Hopefully you’ll be excited to get back to some regular classes at the Cottage!

As always, thank you everyone for your continued support of me and the store. Running a small business and juggling life and it’s challenges is a constant battle, but I’m very blessed to get to do what I do and I’m eternally grateful for your love, support and friendship.

My crafty loving heart was full on Christmas Day when I was deemed to be on Santa’s Nice List and therefore worthy of a handmade gift from my 6 year old goddaughter! 🤣🤣🤣 I was about her age when I started trying all things crafty and look where that’s taken me! 😍

There’s only one thing more I love than paper crafting and that’s…. DISNEY! Most of you probably know that already right??! 😜

Mum and I are so excited to be joining the first Disney Cruise Line sailing coming in to Australia from Honolulu this month. 🏝️🚢😍

Ticking off this bucket list item means some big changes for the shop over the next few weeks. I hope you’ll be understanding and that the reduced hours won’t be too much of an inconvenience for your crafting plans. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

For the rest of October, the store will only be open on Saturdays from 10-4. That’s it! Saturdays only…

Website orders will only be dispatched once a week (on Fridays) and any orders placed for in-store pickup will available the following Saturday.

I’ll be finalising things at the store tomorrow (Monday 9th) from 10-2, so if you need anything, feel free to cruise on in! 🤣

Her passion, creativity and ability to inspire has been felt across our industry for many, many years. She will be missed for so many reasons and my thoughts are with her family and friends during this sad time. RIP Rachel.

What a wild ride the last few months have been! Mum received her final test results this week and she’s been given a clear bill of health. To say I’m relieved would be an understatement! 🎉

We’re celebrating the good news the only way we know how. Mum and I are having next week off and taking a quick trip to Disneyland. It’s a Mother’s Day celebration too and there’ll definitely be some Pandora purchased to mark the occasion. ✈️🛍️

Here’s what you need to know about the coming week…

The store will be open tomorrow from 10am-10pm, Saturday from 10-4 and Monday from 10-3, so if you need to collect online orders or grab some supplies, hopefully you can fit in a visit over the next few days.

The store will then be closed next Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but will be open on Saturday 20th from 10-4. Mum and I return Tuesday 23rd, so the store will be closed on Monday 22nd too.

Any online orders placed after Sunday 14th won’t ship until Tuesday 23rd, so please plan accordingly. The Google hours have been updated, so if you’re totally confused you can double check there! 🙈

Thank you to everyone for your love and support these last few months. I’ve passed all of your wishes on to mum and she’s been touched to think that so many of you think of her.

Hopefully I’ll catch up with you over the next few days or on my return Tuesday 23rd.

Tim Holtz preorders have started shipping today, but there’s a lot of them and it will take me a day or two to get through everything. Thanks for waiting so patiently for these new goodies. I promise it’s been worth the wait! They are even better in real life than I imagined. 🤩

49 & Market continue to hit it out of the park with their collections. The new travel collection is gorgeous and the two new Color Swatch collections are stunning!

Vicki’s papers are loud, proud and colourful just like her! I’m looking forward to getting a chance to use them with some of my large stack of unscrapped travel photos.

How exactly did we end up here with only a couple more days till Christmas??? Who’s ready for Sunday? 🙋🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

The last month has been crazy and it’s seen Mum and I immerse ourselves in some Disney magic (at long last!), the hellbeast turned 5 (who thought we’d ever make it that far?!) and the store reached another milestone with our 23rd year in business (that makes me feel old…!). ✈️🚢🐾🎂🎁

If scrapbook supplies are on your Christmas wish list, you’ve got one more shopping day. The store will be open Friday from 10-4 and then I won’t be back till Wednesday. Make sure your people know that gift vouchers can be purchased on the website if they’re likely to leave things to the last minute! 😜

If you’d like some time for yourself and are feeling crafty, the work area will be available for scrapping on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week. You will need to book a seat though as space is limited.
