I was privileged today to stand in a room today surrounded by so many people I admire. People who not only contribute to the community by bettering it with astounding art, but people who represent, who encourage, empower, and support. People who walk unnavigable paths so that others may one day travel them with ease.

I was beyond chuffed and honoured to just share museum space with these remarkable people.

What I didn’t expect was to win.

Overwhelm has subsided, and although reality hasn’t set in yet, I’m composed enough to say what I feel, and that is simply thank you.

To Yaye, Tank, and my little Yindi... There are no words I could say. You’re my all and my everything and I’ll never stop fighting for a better life for you bubs. ❤️

To my friends, peers, community & colleagues… for your love, your art, your time, your guidance and your support, I am so forever grateful for all of you.

Lastly, to my Bardia Public School Yarning circle kids, each of whose inspirational work kept me motivated when I wanted to give up on this dream again this year… I lub all you bubs! Keep chasing all of those dreams! You Deadly! ✨
