Today Tayla and I visited our friends in Wellington. We were taken for a tour of the headquarters and witnessed where the magic happens. While also meeting all the legends that work there.

This year I will be participating in . I will be raising money for mental health and su***de prevention. Please take the time to read my story and many other peoples stories and make a donation to this amazing charity.

Movember looks at mental health through a male lens, focusing on prevention, early intervention and health promotion.
We’re working towards a world where men take action to be mentally well, and are supported by those around them.

The rate of male su***de is alarmingly high: 3 out of 4 su***des in Australia are by men. We can’t sit back and accept this.

The name of every donor will go in to a hat and one lucky person will be drawn on Wednesday the 30th of November.
The winner will receive a Coffee Supreme Hamper valued at $150.

What a crazy ride we’ve been on since we met each other almost 2 years ago. We’ve been through some highs and lows, ups and downs and let’s not forget f**ken Covid, but you’ve shown up everyday with a smile on your face(and put up with my s**t). We have practically been joined at the hip except for the past four months when you joined our family and moved on to running aka Tayla’s Cafe.
I am so proud of what you are achieving after being practically thrown in the deep end with a cafe to run. I know with your brains, determination, drive and a one of a kind work ethic that you will be successful.

As like every other hospo venue, we are also in need of staff.
We are looking for a cafe all rounder to join our team. We are looking for people who can to take orders, make coffees, cleaning and small food production and some cafe experience.
The position is Mon-Fri 6-3 no weekends. Our other cafe is also looking for someone interested in doing approximately 20hrs per week Mon-Fri.
We are looking for fun, vibrant, enthusiastic, hard working, down to earth legends to join our team who really have a love for the cafe industry and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.

Part One Espresso are looking for an experienced Cafe All-Rounder to help Monday - Friday approx 30-35 hours per week. Barista skills are preferable but not essential. You will be responsible for preparing food, taking orders, helping with coffee and general cleaning/housekeeping duties.

Our Father’s Day boxes are now available to pre-order! Featuring some brand new items including our Bacon Jam! We have provided two options again for you, however if you would like a custom box put together, please get in touch and we will happily pull something together for you!
Orders must be in by close of play on 28th August and pick up will be on 4th September or, opt for our DELIVERY service across the weekend. Costs will be calculated on distance. As always, some items do require refrigeration.
Both boxes are available to purchase through our website, at the cafe or via email/DM/phone call. Payment will be taken upfront.

PARACHUTES ☕️ Introducing the new Parachutes. Coffee bags for brews on the fly! Simply tear the top off, sit over your favourite mug and pour boiling water 3 times-ish for a perfect brew. Easy! (Unless you’re Joe and can’t follow basic instructions)

BLACK LIVES MATTER ✊🏻✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿

A heavy week for us all at Part One Espresso. An even heavier week for those risking their lives to fight against prejudice purely for a colour of skin. As humans, we rightfully deserve to exist without fear.
It has become obvious that many have forgotten or simply chosen to ignore the systemic racism that still to this day exist in Australia. You only have to look as closely as incarceration rates, su***de rates and health equity rates to see how monstrously overrepresented First Nations People are in these areas. Since the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody handed down its 339 recommendations in 1991, 432 First Nations people have died in custody. Not one single Police Officer has ever been convicted of black death in custody.
Australia and the United States share the same racist foundation that allow us to exist and trade today. To take accountability of one’s privilege is simply not good enough. To be non-racist is simply, not enough. To say you are angry or post a black square in solidarity, is not enough.
We implore you to do more with your voice; challenge family members on racist standpoints, have the difficult conversations with your friends on their continual use of the “N” word, dismantle the racism you see casually on a day to day basis. Silence is not the answer, education is. Donations are. At very least, share your resources, amplify black voices. Together, and only together will we dismantle a society built on white privilege.
Together we must do more and do better. Here are some ways you can help. Thank you.

Let’s talk butter. One of the staple ingredients in any good sandwich and often the most commonly overseen. Until now. You saw what we did with the Espresso butter and we would like to raise you, to our brand new creation; The Bloody Mary Butter. Packed full of tomatoey Tabasco goodness, we paired her perfectly with the sharpest cheddar we could find for a smack of moreish delight. What was once an afternoon experiment has since turned into Kent Street’s most sought after recipe. And that was just in the first week. Sadly, we won’t be giving it away any time soon. But we will be selling jars alongside our other beautiful Housemade ingredients. Because of the meticulous process, we ask for a 2 day lead time, but trust us, this is worth the wait.
