Good Morning Warwick Farm! 🌞
Stopped by the Warwick Farm train station to chat about the new timetables and all things happening around our community. Thanks to everyone who stopped for a chat about trains, traffic, mosquitoes and a range of other things - including some of our youngest residents! 😀
I was thrilled to pop into Hinchinbrook Public School for the Year 6 farewell fundraising fete this morning.
The whole event was organised by students and featured games, a jumping castle, fairy floss and a sausage sizzle (of course!). I was so impressed with the hard work of the students, staff and P&C!
I tried my hand at some of the games, and loved catching up with school leaders, staff and P&C reps. Thank you for having me!
I had a wonderful time catching up with Associate Professor Josephine Chow and Shivani Mani this morning!
They shared the amazing things happening at the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research and I got to congratulate Shivani for winning the Excellence in Teaching Award recently at the Ingham Institute’s Annual Research Excellence Awards.
Josephine and Shivani are examples of the talent we have locally and the opportunities we have for expand our health and medical precinct!
🦟 MOSQUITO UPDATE 🦟
I have heard from a lot of people who are concerned about the mosquito outbreak in some of our schools.
I have been in contact with the Education Minister to make sure that this is addressed in a timely manner.
Here's an update on what's happening to better protect our kids.
It’s on this afternoon! 🌞
The Foodies and Farmers Markets is on at Bonnyrigg Sports Club from 3pm - 8pm today.
Over 35 Global food and dessert vendors, artisan shopping, pony rides, jumping castle, DJ, free parking, outdoor seating and a beer garden.
Happy Sunday! Who else is enjoying jacaranda season? 🌞💜

Inspired by my recent visit to Good360 Australia where they are tackling the dual problems of need and waste, I visited Woolworths Liverpool to understand more about their supply chain and how they’re reducing waste and food insecurity by supporting local organisations.
I met store manager Larissa, and Kirsty from Community Cafe who work with Woolies to supply meals and groceries to locals.
Fun fact: my first job ever was in this very Woolies store! Things have certainly changed a bit since I started as a check out chick when I was 16! 😅
🎃 Happy Halloween 🎃
I popped into the Hutman Family Haunt to see the spook-tacular display they’ve created for myself!!!
This extraordinary display included a special session for people with disabilities or sensory issues yesterday.
It was wonderful to finally meet Tanya and Chelsea, the masterminds behind bringing this vision to life 👻
I wish all those in Liverpool and beyond celebrating a blessed Dehwa Hanina! ✨
Dehwa Hanina commemorates the ascension of Hibil Ziwa from the underworld (World of Darkness) to the World of Light.
Mandaean families visit each other and have a special breakfast of rice, yogurt, dates, and sesame seeds. Baptisms are performed, and the dead are commemorated with lofani (ritual meals).
🪔 HAPPY DIWALI 🪔
This Festival of Lights reminds us of the power of hope, unity and new beginnings.
May your homes shine bright with happiness, and may the coming year bring success and joy to all.
I wish all those celebrating a wonderful Diwali with your loved ones! ✨
I have heard from residents that the mosquito issue extends beyond the Chipping Norton to include Warwick Farm and parts of the Liverpool CBD.
I will be writing to City Council Australia, NSW Health and Sydney Water to ensure that any spraying and prevention activities also include Warwick Farm and the Liverpool CBD.
If you would like to share any hotspots, please let me know 👇🏽
Council is actively addressing the issue regarding high quantities of mosquitoes in the Chipping Norton area.
We are working closely with Sydney Water and NSW Health to effectively manage the issue and taking the following steps:
• Trapping mosquitoes in the hot spots in Chipping Norton and near the Liverpool Water Recycling Plant with the help of a mosquito expert in the NSW Health Entomology department to identify the species and the best management option.
• Working with Sydney Water to inspect the Liverpool Water Recycling Plant with NSW Health and undertake appropriate mosquito management actions, as required.
• Working with the NSW Health mosquito expert to inspect mosquito hotspots in the Chipping Norton area and advise on management actions.
• Following advice from NSW Health, Council will engage a contractor next week to spray mosquito larvicide at some natural mosquito habitats.
• Spraying nuisance mosquitoes in public facilities over the next week.
• Council has issued letters to residents in the Chipping Norton area who have neglected swimming pools which may be contributing to the issue.

It was wonderful to join the brand new .edmondsonpark team, headed up by my former colleague Susanna!
It’s been a hot minute since I was part of the headspace family, but I know from experience just how much of a difference having a full centre to support our growing community will have! 💚
It’s conveniently located just across from Ed Park train station and the team has already hit the ground running in supporting over 100 young people, connecting with schools and running events!
Because our teachers deserve nothing less, and our young people will be the biggest beneficiaries 🫶🏽
Grandparents play a huge role in our community! 👵👴💕
It’s important to acknowledge and honour the incredible love, wisdom, and warmth that grandparents bring into our lives. ✨
I popped into the Uruguayan Club for Grandparents Day celebrations to thank our local grandparents (and hang out with the littlies too!)
Do you have a favorite grandparent-grandchild memory? Share in the comments! 💬👇🏽
Happy 60th anniversary Meals on Wheels Liverpool! 🎉
Wonderful to join the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc. and many familiar faces for their annual gala dinner, and contribute to the extraordinary work that the Meals on Wheels team and volunteers do for the Liverpool community!
WE DID IT! It’s been a very long fortnight in the Parliament of NSW but we’ve just wrapped up by passing legislation that will make renting fairer by ending no fault evictions in NSW. Huge congratulations to Minister for Fair Trading Anoulack Chanthivong and his team for their hard work on this Bill!
So many in Liverpool are facing the toughest times any renter has seen for decades with historically low vacancy rates, climbing rents and a system that leaves them vulnerable to eviction at any time.
Ending no fault evictions in NSW will give more security to renters so they can have a home and can build a life. 🏠
Yesterday I met with Transport for NSW offcials to discuss the feedback I’ve received from the recent timetable changes.
I’ve shared the eagerness for faster services from Liverpool and Warwick Farm into the city, and more cars to reduce overcrowding on trains.
It was helpful to understand the impact these timetable changes have had on minimising the impact that incidents can have on the broader network, and set our rail network up to be more resilient.
✨ Congratulations to the Hinchinbrook Public School community and P&C Association!!! ✨
I joined them yesterday to hand over their $60,807 Community Building Partnership grant!
This grant will help the school construct a new covered shelter for their Keppel Circuit entrance walkway over the summer break. Grants for projects like this highlight the important role P&C Associations have in advocating for their school communities.
I encourage all P&C’s to explore how grants can help enhance your school facilities.
