Is it just me or five months' in have you started to feel the wheels are coming off a little?

I'm tired, I've reverted to some unhelpful habits and my productivity has decreased. This week, instead of starting with 'soldiering on', I took a moment to do a life audit. It's a check-in to help me review where I am placing my energy and what I can do to improve things.

The thing is, none of us are immune from this, and, there is no silver bullet. What emotional intelligence has taught me though are ways to notice it earlier and bounce back quicker. That's what I hope for in all of us.

How do you want to fail?

Listening to Pat Cummins on 'the imperfects' podcast, he spoke about how the Australian Cricket Team asks themselves a profound question before every match...'How do we want to fail?'

I haven't been able to shake it since I heard it. When he spoke about it, he explained that it gave them clarity on what was acceptable and unacceptable on the pitch.

I keep thinking about it in life and in business.

I want to fail while stretching my boundaries, not because I'm afraid to try.
I want to fail while introducing others to new ideas about leadership in pharmacy, not delivering what I know sounds good but doesn't work.
I want to fail delivering professional development differently, not conforming to 'the norm' or what other people think it should be.

I'm ready to fail doing worthy things.

As a reforming perfectionist and someone who has overthought and stalled WAY too many times, it's liberating choosing the path to fail forward.
