What is Hen Pen ?

Hey I’m Dee, a mum and Lash Tech, I was a local to Townsville for 30 years and have since relocated to the beautiful country town of Nanango.

I started a womens group in 2019 to find other women who wanted to step out of their comfort zones and simply have a go!

🫶🏼The social passion project of mine was given the name Hen Pen and about 20 Townsville ladies and myself set out to give things a crack.

We are now at a group of 6.6k women and have sponsored women to get Dump truck licences with Training & Personnel Australia - TPA
We’ve held power tool demos with Life Skills Queensland, resin classes with FIBREFINISH, fi****ms safety courses with Pagan Fi****ms & The Bullet Hole , zip lined off Castle Hill, held women’s motor bike Licencing, hiked Mount Stuart and more recently we have been arranging for women to get their boat and jet ski licences in Townsville, the South Burnett and Sunshine Coast area.

Yep we are a community of women kicking goals!!

Quick tip to avoid timber floating in river pours, is to pour a thin layer 1st & embed timber as it just starts to thicken to secure it in desired design. Complete remaining pours to ideal thickness once 1st layer is cured, saving you $ in excess resin to cover raised timber & much less leveling down before top coating/oiling.

Yay! Gunwale Rubber is back in stock! A quick tip to make it easier to apply is leave it in the sun for an hour before applying, as it will become much more pliable with less strain required, & will conform better once it cools down in position.
