Simone’s training and experience in the Natural Health industry started in 2003. Her journey began in Naturopathy, Nutrition and Yoga and later developed into a keen interest of the Eastern perspective on health leading to the completion of a Diploma of Shiatsu and Oriental Therapies. Simone is a fully qualified and registered (STAA) Zen Shiatsu practitioner. She also travels to Sydney every month

A massage chair is brought into the office to provide a massage to the recipient’s back, shoulders, neck, arms and hands. A Seated massage can also be performed at the recipient’s desks.

Cucumbers are so yummy at the moment. I stocked up on Sunday from Cotters Markets, Townsville City. The temperatures are rising here in the tropics & according to Chinese Medicine nutrition theory, they are fabulous for cooling liver heat from eating too much meat, bbq’d & deep fried foods & swishing it down with alcohol bevies, which in our hot climate is double trouble.
But don’t fret! Cooling spring foods are a great way to balance out some of the heat in our bodies & cool our lovely livers down so we can be calm & centred.
Pressed cucumber salad 🥗.
Slice thin rounds of cucumber & place them in a bowl with a little salt & mix. Put weight on a plate ( books work well) & place directly on the cucumbers. Allow to sit for 30 minutes. Meanwhile make a sweet vinaigrette. 1/2 cup of brown rice vinegar, 1/2 cup mirin, pinch of sea salt. Place all the vinaigrette ingredients in a small pot & bring to the boil over medium heat, then remove from heat & let cool. Remove excess liquid from the cucumbers by gently squeezing them. Toss with 1/4 cup of the dressing, reserving the rest for another salad. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds. Serve with other salads, fish & rice dishes. Such a delicious fresh addition to a springtime meal.
