The 2024 Annual Mayo Lecture presented by James Cook University will be delivered by His Honour Judge Jarro. The Mayo Lecture is a distinguished annual event organised by the College of Business, Law, and Governance in collaboration with the James Cook University Law Students Society (JCULSS).
This prestigious lecture series is held in honour of Mrs Marylyn Mayo, a foundational law staff member at JCU. This year's Mayo Lecture is titled “An Aboriginal Perspective (from the Bench),” and we are delighted to announce that His Honour Judge Jarro will be reflecting on Indigenous representation within juries. The lecture promises to deliver insightful perspectives on this vital aspect of our justice system.

Over the past few days in Jakarta, our students immersed themselves in language, culture, cuisine, and tourism classes at Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata Trisakti.
They also visited the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to learn about tourism marketing and explored the hospitality industry with a visit to Rà Suites Simatupang. .
What an incredible experience so far—one our students are sure to never forget!
