SOCIAL INTERACTIONS...
At Uniting Early Learning Riverview our Koala's room show great social interactions daily.
Today the kindy children built a massive car track together that they used as big city to have cars, trucks, planes and also dinosaurs.
Children worked together and showed great creativity and imagination during this play moment.
At Uniting Early Learning Riverview, the children from the kindergarten room have commenced a new strategy for their group time They have started a YARNING CIRCLE.
The Educators, alongside the children, have decorated a “talking stick” that is passed to each child to participate and have their turn to talk. Yarning or talking sticks are a beautiful Aboriginal tool that the kindergarten children are using in their program to support group conversations. This is a great tool for teaching about respect, turn-taking and listening to each other when we share our stories.
BOOK WEEK... Reading is magic!!!
What an amazing end for our BOOK WEEK activities.

In our Kindy yard, we had our amazing Area Manager Allicia Goodwin coming to read her favorite book to our kindy children, then they enjoyed showing off their amazing costumes.
Thank to everyone who came to enjoy our end of Book Week, and we are looking forward to seeing you back for another amazing experience at Uniting Early LEarning Riverview.

"Reading daily to young children, starting in infancy, can help with language acquisition, communication skills, social skills, and literacy skills. This is because reading to your children in the earliest months stimulates the part of the brain that allows them to understand the meaning of language and helps build key language, literacy and social skills"
From our Nursery room to our Kindergarten room, At Uniting Early Learning Riverview our educators work to make sure reading is part of the children routine.
