Ladies and Gents,

KAMS has been awarded responsibility for hosting the WA State Thermal Duration Glider Championship for 2022. The event is open to all MAAA financial members will be held at KAMS field at Oldbury in WA commencing at 0900. The championship will be conducted using international F3J glider competition rules except that glider launches will use F3B standard winches with a maximum of 300 metre line.
While the State Title will be restricted to F3J compliant gliders (which includes F3B and F3F type gliders); all F5J and ERS type gliders using electric motors to launch will be encouraged to compete against the F3J specification models using an honour system to limit the height of their launch to 150 metres and using the same scoring rules for duration and spot landing as the F3J type models. I will provide a separate ranking of scores for the electric launch models alongside the State title results.

Gavin Tilison and Nigel Molyneux having way to much fun competing in the AWA F3J & F5J state championships at the KAMS club in Perth yesterday. Both flying Nan Models Orion E v1 against the big boys and proving what a capable and great model the Orion E is.

Thanks to the KAMS club for the use of their great facilities, to all the pilots, helpers and CD Stuart "Wookie" Hamilton for a great day.
