Do you find you are getting blood tests done and don't have the results?
Do you wait to hear from your practitioner and never get the actual figures?

Your health data is yours, you own it.
Ensure you always request and receive your health data.

How can you get all your results?
Options are to:

- Tell your GP office you are moving and tell them to provide all your records and results.

- Find a new GP and have them ask for all your records (take a copy for yourself simultaneously).

- Contact all your pathology labs and testing service providers and request your records.

All may ask you to fill out a form to get a copy but ask for your whole history at once and save it to your cloud storage.

Moving forward, for pathology requests, use the "copy to" section and always write the words "to patient". This means you will get a copy at the same time as your practitioner.

Don't rely on others to keep track of changes in your health, ensure you take control and keep control of your health data.

If negative feelings and difficult emotions turn up they are there to show you your blind spots.

They are there to say "Hey, you are off course and destined for disaster, take action to get back on course!".

When you are out of alignment with your integrity and your values the body and mind will do its best to warn you by using negative feelings, difficult emotions, discomfort, anxiety, illness, and injury.

Ignore them at your own risk.

Pay attention and take action and you'll find that's where the magic happens.
You are your most reliable compass.

"I believe you"

Whatever it is you are feeling right now, I believe you.

Pausing to validate someone's reality also validates their humanity and encourages them to trust their own feelings.

We are quick to encourage others to get past their difficult emotions and discomfort, for their sake and ours.

By doing this they become socially conditioned not to trust what they are feeling, to suppress and mask their emotions, hopes and dreams so that they can "move on quickly" and make us more comfortable.

"I am so disappointed I didn't get that promotion"
"I'm bummed I didn't get picked for the basketball team"
"I'm feeling so left out not being invited to the party"
"I feel so stupid I stuffed up at work"

I BELIEVE YOU.

That's all you need to say.

If I just reduce my calories intake will I lose weight?

For a short time, maybe.
But then your body will fight against you.

Evolution and our biology ensure we don't lose vital amounts of muscle and fat. We still keep them. So your body starts to defend itself against your efforts to prevent you losing too much of your essential tissues.

Your body says "I don't want to starve" and so signals to the brain to eat.

Your metabolism will slow right down to conserve energy.

What to do instead?
Optimise your diet rather than restrict it.
Move your body regularly
Look at other causes of weight retention.
Explore effective ways to find a healthy weight.

Have I ever counted calories?
Honestly, not since I was a teenager.
It sounded awful and too much effort for me.

The doubts you have today were written in your childhood.

To move forward, take the script from your child self, say "Thank you for keeping me safe so far, I've grown, I've learned and I can take it from here".

Then rewrite the script with what you know now, who you are now, how strong you are now and MAKE THINGS DIFFERENT.

Is it difficult? Yes!
Is it really worth the discomfort? Yes!

Visualising your perfect day is so powerful. When you create a detailed image of these things you convince your brain that something is possible.

It will start to look for avenues and opportunities to make it so.

Like a guided missile that knows where it's going.

Your conscious and unconscious decisions will begin to send you in that direction.

Need some help? Here is a "perfect day" exercise.

- Pick a moment when you’re feeling calm and well-rested to focus inward.
- With your eyes closed, visualise your day as if you’re genuinely experiencing it. Imagine waking up feeling energised and taking note of the first sounds you hear, such as noises from outside or the gentle breathing of a loved one nearby.
- Fully immerse yourself by engaging all your senses - notice the cosiness of your bed, any sounds in the background, and the subtle smells around you.
- This deep engagement enhances the realism of your visualisation.
- As you mentally progress through your perfect day, explore your surroundings and activities without imposing any restrictions. Don’t worry about what seems possible or acceptable; instead, let your ideal day unfold naturally, allowing the best scenarios to arise effortlessly.
- Continue until you feel you have imagined the important aspects in detail.

Your perfect day can change.

Doing this visualisation regularly will continually refine your brain as a guided missile, keeping it on track to find opportunities to turn it into a reality.

This is invaluable.
Ask for what you need, be clear.
Its hard but it will be worth it.

It is so, so hard asking for support.

It's even harder to identify and ask for specific types of support.

It's a million times harder again when you are so deep in intense emotions that you can barely find words at all. And when people have competing needs.

None of it is easy.
God. I know.
I know it these days more than ever.

I hope that this resource is helpful.

If I was using this page with someone today I would ask them to help me believe I can do it.

Because it feels like maybe I can't.

My body hasn't been screaming, but the whispers are getting louder!
I've felt run down, low in iron and generally exhausted lately, even though I am doing everything...
*acupuncture *osteo *bodywork *supplements *rest *good food *sleep ....
I am still feeling not so great.
Travel definitely drains you. I am sure five flights in five days doesn't help, either!

Sometimes, the answer is stillness and quiet. Actually, that is the solution most of the time for me.

Yet switching off sometimes doesn't feel easy when you work for yourself, juggle many balls, and love what you do.
So when I get sick, and business doesn't feel like it's flowing, I have to pause and listen. So listen, that's what I am doing.

I have decided to postpone my next Immersion so I can take some time to be quiet, integrate what's coming next, and find my vitality.
I have emailed those who have already signed up for my next level 1 Immersion.
For those who were thinking about it, I will be running another one next year starting February 3rd.

I am big on supporting clients to prioritise self-care, listen to those whispers, and honour what they need, and now it is my turn to practice what I preach.

Do you have an energy leak?

Energy can "leak out" through "intruders" challenging our life choices and decisions.

Every bit of energy you "leak" comes from your cup.
A cup that is most likely not full enough already.

If you find yourself with a "leaking cup":
- Notice that you have a leaking cup!
- Allow yourself only 2 more minutes of emotion in response to the cause of your "leak".
- Let the thoughts - and the questions, comments and opinions - go!

Next, decide your response to "intruder" and rehearse it well so you are prepared when the questions and comments undoubtedly come. Include in your response a statement that lets the intruder know the conversation is over and it need not be discussed again.

It's up to us to protect our energy so it can be focused on the most important things - ourselves, our children, our intimate relationships, our family, our career.

This may not work for everyone and it is possible the intruders will not listen however I hope this is helpful or useful to someone 💙

What is resilience?

1. For resilience to exist, there needs to be some kind of stress.
2. For resilience to exist, you need to come out of the stressful event in one piece.

Dr Lies Notebaert's defines resilience as "an outcome better than expected given the adversity being faced".

Can you think of a time recently when you experienced an outcome better than you expected given the situation you were faced with?

What happens in your first few sessions with a personal coach?

To begin....

"All it takes is a change in mindset" ... has anyone ever given you this advice?

Yeah, like it's really that easy.

If it was that easy I would have done that already instead of being stressed, upset, disappointed, angry, hurt, heartbroken, defeated, anxious ... .

Telling someone to "just change their mindset" is like telling them to make a cake without a recipe. Sure some people could do it, but most of us will not be able to.

Next time someone comes to you with a problem or challenge, simply listen. Don't be so quick to tell them to change how they are thinking or feeling about it.

DO NOT GO INTO SOLUTION MODE.

They need your presence, not your solutions.
Help them by holding space for their big feelings first.
Then, when THEY are ready, find out what THEY want to do next.

Have you ever hurt yourself only to keep pushing through the pain until you finally had "a professional" diagnose it with an xray.

Have you ever felt down only to keep pushing through the emotions until you finally had "a professional" diagnose it with therapy.

Humans are weird.
Despite our knowing that something is not right, we think the best approach is to push on and ignore the physical or mental pain.
We refuse to rest and recover as our instincts are telling us to unless someone or something external from us gives us evidence, a diagnosis or permission to do nothing.

I'm guilty of this.
Shawn, my partner, regularly tells me to rest and 99% of the time I won't.
I'm convinced I'm being lazy or that I need to push on.
I don't rest anywhere near enough.

What if we listened to what our inner voice is telling us?
What if we stopped and listened to our body?
What if we did what we knew we needed to?
How would that feel to you?
