APPRENTICE BAKER – ARTISAN BAKER
ARTISAN BAKER is presently accepting applications from eager and passionate people who want to start their careers in the baking sector as an apprentice baker/pastry cook.
The selected candidate will be exposed to a wide range of responsibilities in this fast-paced position, including the production of bread and pastry products using traditional methods under the guidance of our French master baker, preparation of other food items and the up keep of kitchen hygiene.
This is your chance to establish yourself in a great team dedicated to producing quality products and share your passion for food and baking.
What we are looking for:
• Attention to detail.
• Have a love for creating and baking food.
• Be able to work independently as well as supervised during busy production periods.
• Willing to work early morning starts and Saturday mornings and stand on feet for long periods of time.
• Have excellent communication skills.
• Well-presented and be able to demonstrate a genuine commitment to learning all aspects of baking – bread, cakes and pastry production
• A driver's license is preferred or must have own way of getting to work taking into consideration of hours.
What we are offering
• Tuesday to Saturday working week – Sunday and Monday off
• Supportive Team Environment
• Opportunity to develop your skills and take on more responsibility.
• Certificate III in Retail Baking (combined) - upon completion of this four-year apprenticeship.

Casual: 21 hours per week
Hourly rate: $29.04 (age dependent)

Do you enjoy cooking and baking with the opportunity to learn new skills?
Are you able to work: Tuesday and Friday from 5am to 1.30pm
Saturday from 5am to 10am
THE ROLE:
• Assist baking and pastry team in all aspects of production
• Preparing ingredients
• Packing bread and pastry orders
• Kitchen cleaning duties
• Shifts: 5am starts Tuesday, Friday and Saturday
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
• Previous commercial kitchen experienced preferred but not essential
• Good physical condition with ability to lift heavy things
• Basic literacy and numeracy to read packing slips and instructions
• Proficient spoken and written English
• Able to work in a fast, efficient and organised manner
• Own transport to and from work

Are you our new school-age junior retail team member?
Saturday shift open in busy French bakery serving customer, topping up products along with cleaning tasks. Barista training on offer for the right candidate.
Must be able to start as early as 7am and finish as late as 2.30pm. We are a small team and need you to be able to work every Saturday - winter is our busy time. So if you love yummy food, enjoy helping people and can handle the pace of a busy environment, email your resume to [email protected].
