On Saturday 8th June Wangaratta Football Netball Club are running a junior development day at our home game vs Wodonga Raiders.

Entry will be FREE at the gate for all Wangaratta Junior League & Auskick players & their parents.
We are also running a lunchtime event upstairs in our clubrooms with Richmond legend Matthew Richardson the guest speaker.
This is a ticketed event from 12-2pm that includes finger food & interview with Richo by Chris Naish.

Cost is $30 per head or $200 for a table of 8.

💛 MATTHEW RICHARDSON DAY 🖤

Richmond Tigers legend Matthew “Richo” Richardson will be attending our club on Saturday 8th June 2024.

Richo is a former AFL footballer who played for the Richmond Tigers Football Club. He was known for his exceptional marking ability and goal-scoring prowess, earning him a reputation as one of the most dominant forwards of his era. Richo played 282 games for Richmond, scoring 800 goals and earning multiple All-Australian selections. Life after football for Richo involves working as a commentator and analyst for various AFL programs.

There will be function held upstairs with an interview with Richo commencing at 12pm. Tickets for the function are available at the below link for $30 which includes nibbles with drinks at bar prices.

There will be free gate entry for all Auskick, junior league players, Wangaratta Netball Association players & parents at the gate. Come meet Richo, get a photo or an autograph and watch the mighty pies as they take on the Wodonga Raiders.

Fiona Fraser: A Passionate Club Umpire

Meet Fiona Fraser, our dedicated volunteer of the week! Fiona has been selflessly serving as a Club Umpire with Centrals Junior Football Club in the Wangaratta & District Junior Football League.

Her journey began when the Under 12’s team manager sought volunteers, and Fiona eagerly stepped up to the challenge. 🏉

Fiona believes that umpiring provides “the best seat in the house.” Standing on the field, she witnesses the game’s intensity, the players’ determination, and the camaraderie among teams. It’s a front-row view of the action, and Fiona wouldn’t trade it for anything else.

Centrals JFC and the Umpire NEB Department have been pillars of support for Fiona. Their encouragement and guidance have allowed her to thrive in her role. Fiona appreciates the sense of community—the shared passion for football—that binds everyone together. Watching kids develop their skills every week fills her heart with pride. 🙌

Fiona’s commitment reflects the positive shift in football culture—from elite leagues to grassroots. Respect, inclusivity, and safety now define s the community football landscape. Fiona encourages parents and other volunteers to lace up their boots and contribute to their respective clubs’ umpiring efforts.

As a small token of our gratitude, Fiona will receive a $50 APCO Service Stations voucher. It’s a way to say, “Thank you, Fiona, for making junior community football enjoyable for everyone!” Her dedication inspires us all. 👏
