আজ বিশ্ব বাইপোলার দিবস। বাইপোলার মুড ডিজঅর্ডার বিষয়ে সচেতনতা বাড়াতে প্রতি বছর এই দিবস পালন করা হয়। বাইপোলার মুড ডিজঅর্ডার হচ্ছে একটি আবেগজনিত গুরুতর মানসিক অসুস্থতা - যাকে দ্বিপ্রান্তিক মানসিক রোগ বলা যেতে পারে।
এই অসুস্থতার দুই প্রান্তে আবেগের তীব্র বহিঃপ্রকাশ ঘটে থাকে যার এক প্রান্তে থাকে বিষণ্ণতা বা ডিপ্রেশন, যেখানে বেশির ভাগ সময় মন খারাপ থাকে, কোনো কিছুই ভালো লাগে না, খাওয়া দাওয়া কমে যায়
অন্য প্রান্তে থাকে অতিরিক্ত মাত্রায় খুশি বা ফুরতি লাগা, নিজে বিশাল বড় কিছু ভাবা, অনেক বড় বড় চিন্তা মাথায় আসা। দেখা যায় এই দুই প্রান্তের মাঝের সময় তারা স্বাভাবিক থাকেন।
আমাদের জাতীয় মানসিক স্বাস্থ্য জরিপ ২০১৯ অনুযায়ী-আমদের দেশের শতকরা ০.৫ ভাগ মানুষ -বাইপোলার মুড ডিজঅর্ডার এ ভুগছেন এবং মহিলারা পুরুষদের তুলনায় বেশী আক্রান্ত (পুরুষ ০.৩%, মহিলা ০.৭%)। আসুন আমারা আমদের আশে পাশের মানুষ যিনি বাই পোলারে ভুগছেন তাকে সহায়তা করি, বিজ্ঞান ভিত্তিক চিকিৎসায় সুস্থ জীবনে ফিরিয়ে নিয়ে আসি।
Eight most important parenting tips those I believe every parent should consider
1. Express your love and care:
Your child is the most precious thing you have and don’t hesitate to express your love and care. Your love Is Unconditional and show them through action. Your expression love to your children can be as simple as giving them hugs, spending quality time with them, having family meals together, and listening to your child’s problems seriously.
2. Be a Good Role Model:
Be a Good Role Model. Walk the walk. Don’t just tell your child what you want them to do.
When you do tasks cheerfully (or at least without grumbling or complaining), you teach your child to do the same. Your child is spending most of his time with you and thus learns a great deal from you and your attitude towards sports, academics and other spheres of life impact your child’s choices too.
3. Try to Set Limits and Be Consistent With Your Discipline:
Make clear rules and stick to them, such as how long your child can watch TV or when she has to go to bed. Be clear about what behavior is okay and what is not okay. Talk with your child about respecting others. Encourage him to help people in need.
4. Be A Safe Haven For Your Child.
Talk to your child and also listen to them carefully. Always keep an open line of communication, it will provide a better relationship with your child and your child will come to you when there’s a problem. You don’t have to provide solutions. Sometimes just careful and active listening and talk to them helps, asking clarifying questions using simple words will help them make sense of their experiences and integrate their memories.
5. Teach them to balance between joy and fun:
Help your child develop a sense of responsibility—ask him to help with household tasks, such as setting the table. Do fun things together as a family, such as playing games, reading, and going to events in your community.
6. Boost Your Child's Self-Esteem:
Try to boost your child’s self esteem by praising your child for good behavior. It’s best to focus praise more on what your child does (“you worked hard to figure this out”) than on traits she can’t change (“you are smart”). Focus on their strengths, avoid harsh and critical comments. But don’t overpraise.
7. Careful about your words and tone:
Children value your words and your tone too. You should be careful about your word selection for the kids and you can express a great deal from your tone. However, make sure that you do not make it negative or hurtful. Be firm and clear in what you want your child do and then leave the rest to child’s discretion. Keep your instructions or commands simple and direct rather than leaving scope for any ambiguity.
8. Take care of your mental health and prevent parental burnout:
Pay attention to your own well-being to prevent parental stress and burnout. Oftentimes, things such as your own needs or the health of your marriage are kept on the back burner when a child is born. If you don’t pay attention to them, they will become bigger problems down the road. Take time to take care of your won mental health and well being and strengthen your relationship with your spouse.

১। আপনার স্ট্রেস ট্র্যাক করুন. কোন পরিস্থিতি সবচেয়ে বেশি চাপ সৃষ্টি করে এবং আপনি কীভাবে সেগুলোতে প্রতিক্রিয়া জানান তা সনাক্ত করতে এক বা দুই সপ্তাহ ধরে সেগুলো নোট করুন এবং একটি ডেয়ারিতে লিখে রাখুন। আপনার চিন্তাভাবনা, অনুভূতি এবং চারপাশ সম্পর্কে তথ্য রেকর্ড করুন, স্ট্রেসের সাথে জড়িত ব্যক্তি এবং পরিস্থিতি, শারীরিক প্রতিক্রিয়া এবং আপনি কীভাবে প্রতিক্রিয়া দেখিয়েছেন যেমন- জেম্ন-কি জোরে কথা বলতেছিলেন, বা আপনার বুক ধড়পড় করে? নোট নেওয়া আপনাকে আপনার মানসিক চাপ এবং তাদের প্রতি আপনার প্রতিক্রিয়াগুলির মধ্যে প্যাটার্ন খুঁজে পেতে সহায়তা করতে পারে।

৩। কার্যকর স্ট্রেস ম্যানেজমেন্টের জন্য পর্যাপ্ত ভালো মানের ঘুম পাওয়াও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। দিনে দেরীতে আপনার ক্যাফিন গ্রহণ সীমিত করে এবং রাতে কম্পিউটার এবং টেলিভিশন ব্যবহারের মতো উদ্দীপক কার্যকলাপ কমিয়ে স্বাস্থ্যকর ঘুমের অভ্যাস গড়ে তুলুন।
৪। কাজের সময় ও নিজের জন্য সময়ের সীমানা নির্ধারণ করুন। এর অর্থ হতে পারে সন্ধ্যায় বাড়ি থেকে ইমেল চেক না করার বা রাতের খাবারের সময় ফোনের উত্তর না দেওয়ার নিয়ম তৈরি করা।
৫। কাজের ক্ষেত্রে organized বা গোছালো থাকার পরিকল্পনা করুন এমনকি আপনি যদি একজন স্বাভাবিকভাবে অগোছালো ব্যক্তিও হন, তবে গোছালো থাকার জন্য আগে থেকে পরিকল্পনা করা কর্মক্ষেত্রে আপনার চাপকে ব্যাপকভাবে হ্রাস করতে পারে। আপনার সময়ের সাথে সংগঠিত হওয়ার অর্থ হল দেরী এড়াতে সকালে কম তাড়াহুড়া করা এবং দিনের শেষে বের হওয়ার জন্য কম তাড়াহুড়ো করা।
৬। প্রতিটি দিনের জন্য আপনার প্রত্যাশা পরিষ্কার করুন আপনার কাছ থেকে ঠিক কী প্রত্যাশিত সেটি জানার চেষ্টা করুণ এবং সেই দিনের প্রত্যাশিত কাজটি ছোট ছোট ভাগে ভাগ করে সময়ের মধ্যে শেষ করার পরিকল্পনা করুণ।
৭। সহকর্মীদের সাথে দ্বন্দ্ব আপনার শারীরিক এবং মানসিক স্বাস্থ্যের উপর প্রভাব ফেলে। সহকর্মীদের মধ্যে দ্বন্দ্ব থেকে পালানো কঠিন হতে পারে, তারপরও যতটা সম্ভব কর্মক্ষেত্রে দ্বন্দ্ব এড়ানোর চেষ্টা করুণ। গসিপ করবেন না, ধর্ম এবং রাজনীতি সম্পর্কে আপনার অনেক ব্যক্তিগত মতামত শেয়ার করবেন না এবং "রঙিন" অফিস হাস্যরস থেকে দূরে থাকুন।
৮। আপনার ছুটির দিনগুলি নষ্ট হতে দেবেন না। যখন সম্ভব, তখন আরাম এবং শান্ত হওয়ার জন্য সময় নিন, যাতে আপনি পুনরায় চাঙ্গা হয়ে কাজ করতে ফিরে আসেন এবং আপনার সেরাটা পারফর্ম করার জন্য প্রস্তুত থাকতে পারেন।
৯। আপনার সুপারভাইজারের সাথে খোলামেলা কথআ বলুন যেন তিনি আপনার মানসিক চাপের কারণগুলো বুঝতে পারেন এবং আপনি কিভাবে সেগুলো মোকাবেলা করতে চাচ্ছেন তাকে জানান ও তার সহযোগিতা । এটা আপনার দুর্বলতা না বরং চাকরিতে আপনার সেরাটা দেওয়ার প্রচেষ্টার অংশ।

· Retrieve documents needed for Audits.

One in four people in the world will be affected by mental or neurological disorders at some point in their lives. Around 450 million people currently suffer from such conditions, placing mental disorders among the leading causes of ill-health and disability worldwide.
Treatments are available, but nearly two-thirds of people with a known mental disorder never seek help from a health professional. Stigma, discrimination and neglect prevent care and treatment from reaching people with mental disorders, says the World Health Organization (WHO). Where there is neglect, there is little or no understanding. Where there is no understanding, there is neglect.
"Mental illness is not a personal failure. In fact, if there is failure, it is to be found in the way we have responded to people with mental and brain disorders," said Dr Gro Harlem Brundtland, Director-General of WHO, on releasing the World Health Report. "I hope this report will dispel long-held doubts and dogma and mark the beginning of a new public health era in the field of mental health," she added.
A lack of urgency, misinformation, and competing demands are blinding policy-makers from taking stock of a situation where mental disorders fi gure among the leading causes of disease and disability in the world, says WHO. Depressive disorders are already the fourth leading cause of the global disease burden. They are expected to rank second by 2020, behind ischaemic heart disease but ahead of all other diseases.
WHO’s message is that every country, no matter what its resource constraints, can do something to improve the mental health of its people. What it requires is the courage and the commitment to take the necessary steps.
Mortality estimates comparing people with mental disorders to the general population or people without mental disorders (e.g., standardized mortality ratios, relative risks, hazard ratios, odds ratios, and years of potential life lost).
According to these figures, mental disorders are among the leading causes of death worldwide.
The significance of mental diseases in preventable death must be adequately considered in efforts to measure and manage the global burden of sickness.

Depression is a common illness worldwide, with an estimated 3.8% of the population affected, including 5.0% among adults and 5.7% among adults older than 60 years. Approximately 280 million people in the world have depression. Depression is different from usual mood fluctuations and short-lived emotional responses to challenges in everyday life. Especially when recurrent and with moderate or severe intensity, depression may become a serious health condition. It can cause the affected person to suffer greatly and function poorly at work, at school and in the family. At its worst, depression can lead to su***de. Over 700 000 people die due to su***de every year. Su***de is the fourth leading cause of death in 15-29-year-olds.
Although there are known, effective treatments for mental disorders, more than 75% of people in low- and middle-income countries receive no treatment. Barriers to effective care include a lack of resources, lack of trained health-care providers and social stigma associated with mental disorders. In countries of all income levels, people who experience depression are often not correctly diagnosed, and others who do not have the disorder are too often misdiagnosed and prescribed antidepressants.
