আর্জেন্টিনার প্রেমে বাঙ্গালীর মন,
দূর দেশের ফুটবলে বাঁধে যে বন্ধন।
মেসির দৌড়, মারাদোনার ছন্দ,
হৃদয় জুড়ে তাদের খেলার স্মৃতি অনন্ত।

আকাশের নীলে সাদা মেঘের ভেলা,
আর্জেন্টিনার পতাকা যেন বাঙ্গালীর মেলা।
প্রেমের আবেগে মিশে যায় দুই জাতির প্রাণ,
ফুটবলের মাঠে উচ্ছ্বাসে ভাসে বাঙ্গালীর গান।

সবুজ মাঠের উপর বলের নাচন,
আর্জেন্টিনার জয়ে বাঙ্গালীর মন প্রসন্ন।
গোলের উল্লাসে মিলে যায় সব বেদনা,
ফুটবলের প্রেমে একাকার সব মানুষের মনা।

আর্জেন্টিনার প্রেমে বাঙ্গালীর এই গান,
সনেট ছন্দে বাঁধা প্রেমের অমিয় ধারা।
দুই দেশের মাঝে বয়ে চলে প্রেমের স্রোত,
ফুটবলের মাঠে মিলে মিশে একাত্ম হয় কোটি কোটি ভাবনা।

সংকিপ্ত ইতিহাস : // ১৯৫২ সালের এ দিনে (৮ ফাল্গুন ১৩৫৯) বাংলাকে পাকিস্তানের অন্যতম রাষ্ট্রভাষা করার দাবিতে আন্দোলনরত ছাত্রদের ওপর পুলিশের গুলিবর্ষণে কয়েকজন তরুণ শহীদ হন। তাদের স্মরণে প্রতিবছর পালিত হয় এ দিবসটি।
১৯৪৮ সালের ২১ মার্চ ঢাকার রেসকোর্স ময়দানে (বর্তমানে সোহরাওয়ার্দী উদ্যান)। পাকিস্তানের স্থপতি মোহাম্মদ আলী জিন্নাহ, `উর্দুই হবে পাকিস্তানের রাষ্ট্রভাষা’ বলে ঘোষণা দেন। মুহাম্মদ আলী জিন্নাহ’র ঘোষণার সাথে সাথেই ময়দানে উপস্থিত জনগণ সমবেতভাবে এ ঘোষণার প্রতিবাদ করেন। জিন্নাহ পুনরায় ২৪ মার্চ ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের কার্জন হলে গিয়ে একই রকম ভাষণ দেন। সাথে সাথেই সমবেত ছাত্ররা `না না’ বলে চিৎকার করে উঠেন। মূলত তারপর থেকেই সূচনা হয়েছিল ভাষা আন্দোলনের। তবে ভাষা আন্দোলনের চরম বহিঃপ্রকাশ ঘটে ২১ ফেব্র“য়ারি ১৯৫২ সালে। এদিনে ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজের আমতলায় দলে দলে ছাত্রজনতা জড়ো হয়েছিলেন। মুখে স্লোগান, বুকে সাহস। মিছিলে প্রকম্পিত হলো রাজপথ- `রাষ্ট্রভাষা বাংলা চাই, রাষ্ট্রভাষা বাংলা চাই।’ সে দিন ছাত্রদের ওপর পুলিশ গুলি চালালে পরিস্থিতি মুহূর্তে পাল্টে যায়। ছাত্রদের আন্দোলন হয়ে ওঠে সবার। ওই মাহেন্দ্রণে বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাস প্রবেশ করে এক নতুন যুগে।
